No .. it just SEEMED like 17 years.

Really it was about three but the work was kind of hit and miss. There were months when the car just sat without ever being touched, followed by weekends of frenzied activity, followed by much beer drinking.
 
Some small burnt orange Bevo mud flaps for those rear wheels would be a nice touch

Where do you put fuel in that baby? A chick I knew had one and the fuel cap was on the first front fender. Don't see that on your Bevo Ghia.

Believe it or not, you have to raise the hood up completely. The gas tank is actually in the hood but it doesn't have a little door/gate. I think what you're talking about came later.

It's a pain in the butt. But, then again, the whole car is a sort of throwback to the bare bones driving experience of our forefathers.
