Game Experience rant

Def SEC but realistically we’re old fogy’s here cause everyone else loves it. It’s a 4 hour party.

I talked to a tceh family that attended Friday night's game. Their complaints were many, but mainly that the whole DKR experience is too professional. They really hated Bevo Blvd.

I pretty much discounted everything they complained about, because I've been to a couple of games at Jones Stadium. There are Texas 4A schools that do better game days than tceh.

I dunno. It seems like the younger crowd is the one spending money at the stadium - beer, food etc. The olds are too cheap.

Cheap? Or practical?

There is no way in hell I'm spending $10 for one crappy light beer at a stadium when I wouldn't spend $10 at a store for a six-pack of the same crappy light beer.
 
Have some seat neighbors that I noticed always having a longhorn Yettii tumbler with diff color, etc at each game. When asked if they buy a new one at each game they said “yep”. To each his own.
 
What am I missing? CDC set the price of a tall can at $5 & $6. Same at a pro game is closer to $25.

I sat in the end zone for RRS and inhaled a fair amount of that orange “smoke” before kickoff. The wind was minimal so It just hung around and drifter over the crowd at that end of the stadium. I remember thinking - I hope we do not get over focused on the flash. Did not attend a home game this year but heard from a wide demographic range of fans- everyone I talked to absolutely loved the atmosphere. It sounds like it is helping to get people off their asses and yell at the correct time. That would be a giant improvement from the years I’ve been frustrated by lethargic/ tepid “fans” who sometimes the loudest they are is when shussing fans around them.
 
For the Friends of Bill W., price of beer = $0.00 per...even for premium brand...even at pro games.
 
At the Big 12 championship game Sat. our fans chanted SEC, SEC, SEC several times during the game. I did NOT participate.

It did make wonder if our fans are suddenly embracing / proud to be "moving up" OR was it more a mocking - hey SEC here we come? I'm thinking mocking....

What say you?

More like mocking B12 as in hey SEC here we come.
 
Not sure many of our fans understand it, but my thought was it was another way of saying, "OUR CHECK IS BIGGER THAN YOUR CHECK; ONE HELLUVA LOT BIGGER."

I heard it from SA. Felt a tinge of embarrassment, but what the hey?!?! I believe it was in part for the big XII haters we're leaving behind & partly for Yormark. Prolly everyone doing it had their own reasons/motivation.
 
1) I think the students don't understand how we do. I think more yoots were changing than anyone else.
2) I was more ok as a stick it to the B12 commissioner on the way out.
 
I heard it at the end of the game when youmusk was getting ready to award the trophy (on TV). Did it happen at other times? At the award ceremony I think it was mocking the king of WWE.

I remember it happened a couple of times before the end. It was not the entire UT crowd and it was not real long.

I think it was mocking the Big 12 - embrace the hate. I hope we are known in the SEC as the fan base that doesn’t chant it.
 
It should be printed "$EC $EC"

Arkansas left the SWC because they had to have more $$$

A&M left because they were losing $20 million a year and needed the $$$

Texas & OU are leaving because the Big XII had NO leadership and the $EC money was $ignificantly higher.
 
SEC is beneath us on culture, ethics, academics. Some Examples:
Hiring Petrino back at aTm, and now Arkansas. Hiring Huge Freeze at Auburn (fired at Ole miss for indiscretions), Jeff Lebby to Miss. State (Part of Baylor scandal).
Just here to play football and survive the NIL changes.
