For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

The Orangebloods staff seems to think that if Urban is coming, the announcement will be made before Saturday when he is scheduled to be involved with the Kansas St. telecast. I guess it would be embarrassing to critique the guy you're replacing.

Nahlin (IT) says Sunday (in case u dont know basic Spanish)

This is clearly correct. I did some quick research (and may have made a tabulation error, but I think this is right):

Herman is 30-18 since taking the job in 2017. Of those 48 games, 27 have been decided by 1 score or less. Our record in those games 14-13. And, some of those 1 score wins are nothing to brag about-- Kansas (2x), Tulsa!

We usually show up against a good team (last year- LSU), and mail it in against lesser teams. That's on the coach.

I was thrilled when we got rid of Charlie Strong, a good guy, but the worst game day coach I have ever seen. Now, we have neither a good game day coach, or a good guy.
Good job on the research. I might've got around to that but the wife had me doing the Clark Griswold hanging Christmas lights. I'm getting better seeing how I only fell off the ladder one time. Thank goodness for the cypress tree!

Meyers or Stoops. WE need someone tried and proven and a leader not a follower. Need to get this team in line. Tell them my way or the highway. No more cry baby or malcontents. If you are not happy here then hit the road or the pine.

...Anyway, reading that we like Eric Bieniemy as the next choice if UM is a no go
He is Andy Reid's OC and checks certain other boxes attractive to the academic side, which is apparently driving the new hire search

FWIW, EB was OC at Colorado in 2012 when they went 1-11 and had an awful offense.
And, a the risk of getting called out (again), Bieniemy is not exactly "squeaky clean" either

Coach: Buffs recruited gangs
Football: Bieniemy to likely face questioning - Daily Bruin
Colorado tailback suspended for alteraction
The uncomfortable pasts of Eric Bieniemy and Vance Joseph
CHARGERS' BIENIEMY ARRESTED

Kind of interesting to see Texas so willing to go places now that they would not have gone in the past
I guess that is what the worst 10 years in program history will do to you

This is interesting. IF A REPLACEMENT IS LINED UP, Sunday makes sense. Can't risk a change before a tough KSU game, but you can have an interim coach get you through Kansas (unless that coach is Charlie Strong). However, I don't see how you can fire the coach without someone new lined up just before signing day. To keep the recruits that have already committed you better have a damn good replacement already signed up or lose an entire class.

Let's see if IT knows something or is full of it.

Tennessee is my #2 team. I'm familiar with the story. The only evidence to believe he was involved in the Penn State situation is the word of a guy who chose not to intervene in a sexual assault. He'd be a great hire.

He might be a great coach, but people would still freak out

I believe another factor for his downfall was lack of discipline by the players and Herman not holding them accountable. We seem to always lose the penalty yards battle. Luckily in 2018 we were about even in that category and got 10 wins.

2017: Tx 869 Opp 682 yards = 7-6
2018: Tx 938 Opp 947 yards = 10-4
2019: Tx 890 Opp 604 yards = 8-5

I left my hammer on top of my ladder wrapping my tree trunks. You can guess what happened when I moved the ladder. Luckily, it wasn't the claw end that hit the top of my head.

I suspect that the (few) recruits still on board are likely very firm, and firm on the school, not on our current coach.

Bieniemy has had 2 stints at Colorado with a UCLA stint in between. He's pretty comfortable at KC. Why would Shanahan leave ahead coaching gig in the NFL to run a college program? He ain't walking off the SF job.
