For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

Would be nice to see some offensive efficiency again
Using oFEI ranking, Texas from 2012 to today has averaged 58th overall in oFEI and under Herman have averaged 44 (109, 25, 13, 28). I think most would agree we lack both execution and quality playcalling over this entire period

At tOSU, Meyer's offenses were
2012: 32
2013: 3
2014: 2
2015: 22
2016: 21
2017: 4
2018: 5
His offenses were basically either top 5 or in the 20s. With an average of 13 (and the two in the 20s were Tim Beck, lol)
Talent and execution at the same time should make a big difference for us

I think if I broke it down, our lack of offensive efficiency, I would say:
45 percent offensive line's fault
35 percent Sam's fault
20 percent play calling

About how I view it, Poms. I'd also add at times our receivers could be more successful getting open/separation....maybe 10-15%. Don't know if that is a combination of the 3 you noted or is on the receiving room.
I'm with you, though, on your analysis and attribution. Have to credit Sam on his % just a tad though due to #1. I believe playcalling to be improved.....at least to my eyes.
Anyone know our offensive production...points and yards vs 2019?

I would credit Sam with 25% and add 5 to both of the other categories. Mainly because I think often Sam is the only one pulling us out of the hole.

Would be interesting to play this season without the "woke" crap kicking this team in the teeth. I hate that it impacted UT, hate that TH bought into it 100%. As you can see from the big money doaners, they dont like whats happening. If the crybaby players performed to the level expected and were a "team", maybe this is different. If you believe that UT is racist, why did you come here to play and coach!! Dont let the door hit you on the way out th, sterns and the rest of the magget ridden players who helped destroy the team.

I feel dumb, I forgot about the receiving corp. So I would take 5% off the o- line and 5% off of Sam and make it 8% receiving core and 2 percent running backs.

Couple billion here, couple billion there, pretty soon you're talking real money.

  • Although often quoted, it seems Dirksen never actually said this. The Dirksen Congressional Research Center made an extensive search when fully 25% of enquiries to them were about the quotation. They could find Dirksen did say "a billion here, a billion there", and things close to that, but not the "pretty soon you're talking real money" part. They had one gentleman report to them he had asked Dirksen about it on an airplane trip and received the reply: "Oh, I never said that. A newspaper fella misquoted me once, and I thought it sounded so good that I never bothered to deny it."

Ask Saban how that woke crap has effected their season.
Yeah....I bet he had a meeting with the team and...kindly and graciously yet firmly... let em know what's what real quick. I mean...you dont think Bama has some history that would upset the woke crowd? But yet.. you heard almost nothing. ...And the play on the field -along with peripheral aspects of program- indicate it wasn't allowed to be a distraction.

I'm guessing the conversation went something like this in a meeting room:

Look here men, we are here to play football and prepare you for getting drafted. I understand there are things going on in the world that may emotionally impact you and I respect that. However, when we are here to play Alabama football we have to leave that at the door to get the job done. If you feel you are incapable of leaving it at the door when you put on your pads I give you the opportunity to go somewhere else to play. At Alabama we're here to win and that can't happen with distractions. Those who stay I will assume are here for business. Thank you.

Thanks Dr. I actually didn't know that the quote was attributed to Sen Dirksen. That said, I view Sen Dirksen as one of the last true statesmen. My dad was a staunch Southern Democrat when that was synonymous with staunch conservative. I say that to say this, my dad loved Dirksen because of his principled way of speaking and conducting himself. Too bad we can't dig him up and clone him.

The situation as I see it if negotiations break down with Meyer it will prove more detrimental than firing Herman for someone else. Pretty much Meyer or keep Herman.

I dunno. Herman has lost half the fanbase just on the wokeness alone. Forget the bad coaching. I can almost forgive that part.

Isn’t there a ten day posting requirement for the job? My memory is foggy how that works ...

Calling @SabreHorn for help ... should we not expect any news tomorrow? Do we have to wait ten days?

Caden Sterns also apparently opting out of the rest of the season.

Herman has lost the team. What else can he expect to do at this point?
I can’t blame him Sterns or Cosmi or any of the other players for “opting out!” Ironically, I “opted out” after the coach and team decided to make things other than winning football games a big priority.

Now do Herman’s speech. :smile1:
