For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

TFB says

In a previous post I noted that I was told that should Herman win out and even lose in the Big 12 championship game, he’d likely be retained. However, a loss to Iowa State (or any other regular season opponent) would likely result in a change.

I’ve received some additional confirmation on this. This particular person worded it even more forcefully saying that one more regular season loss will likely spell the end.

Needless to say, that Iowa State game is going to loom incredibly large.
I don't even understand why his winning or losing any games the rest of the season matters.
Isn't it clear that Herman=mediocrity.

The South Carolina 247 mod posted that a source told him Herman might look at them as an option instead of waiting to be fired here. They liked him back on 2015
The other school name that has come up as a landing place for Tom is Vandy

I think we would have ~$15mill buyout for the firing (w/ offsets) (I think its prorated and supposed to be $15.4M if on Dec 1 - but this is from some website and might not be 100% accurate)
Hugh Freeze is now getting over $3M/yr at Liberty in his new contract.
So maybe we could get the Tom buyout down to $10M
Why would he agree? Let's say he was willing to go to SC but had to make a move now. And let's assume he could get something like $4M per from them. A $10 buyout + 3 years at $4M = $22M. Which is better than $15M and is also more than Hugh Freeze will get at his new contract value over the same period of time.

If Tom were to stay, the pay scale is supposed to be
$6M 2020
$6.25M 2021
$6.5M 2022
$6.75M 2023
I've been unable to find anything mentioning Herman for the SC job and why would they want him? Seems to me if there was anything to it there would be more chatter. Supposedly Napier turned down Arkansas last year thinking SC would come open. Everything I've heard indicates he's the clear leader.

SC wants him? First I’ve heard of it, but if so, I’ll go help Herman pack...no charge! The Dodd Trophy sounds like one of those awards that kids get for showing up for every game.

They wanted him in 2015 but he backed out after they lost to Citadel. I haven't heard anything saying they want him now. But it would be very TX football 2020 to have him leave/get driven out and then UM turn us down and have the next 3 in line like Shanahan all turn us down too, ala Mi State last year.

I still don't see us losing another game regular season, so....

Its OK to doublepost in a period this football sloooow.
We need content, any content, people!!

I really didnt mean to direct that at him like it seems. I noted the original idea came from the SC24/7 site and almost immediately someone comes in with, "I looked all over and cant find where that comes from." So I was trying to politely direct it at those posters, but I sort of accidently ran over Badass in the process. It was an unintentional drive by shooting. I will strive to improve my technique in the future. It's the best I can offer.

Oh I didn't take it any way at all. I was messin around.
But, yes...We must all be continually working on our technique here. The importance of this cannot be overstated.

Bye weeks are bad enough, let alone a double bye week. Let's pray to God we don't have any more of them for a LOOOONNNGGGG time!

Leaving UT for a worse job has precedents. Fred went to Purdue. Mackovic to Arizona. Nobody can win at either. Ok, Joe Tiller was sort of an exception. TH will have limited choices if he leaves by any route

Lots of HC took the buyout or payout money to go into media like Mack w ABC, Urban w FOX or taken the Coord route back to HC like Ed O, Kiffin, and soon Sarkisian. Enjoy the money and be ready for the right route.

This is freakin' absurd. One guy on a SC message board suggests it might happen but by no means a sure thing and people run with it. Herman might get fired if the bottom falls out but he's not leaving voluntarily for anywhere. No one in the national media considers it a remote possibility.

"South Carolina 247 mod"

A mod told me Herman is a rocker.
Said he's been leaping along in a zoot suit with 5" side vents.
Dressed right for a street fight.
