Florida linebacker: 'OU is not on our level'

I am with VB here. I went 0-7-1 in my college years against Aggy and Sooners. One tie ag OU. My high school gf was Aggy. I have many Aggy friends, no OU friends. And the SEC bs is intolerable ...

A&M beat up on a really weak SEC this year and are ranked 5 .... puhleezeee ... one win ag three loss Florida, one win ag four loss auburn and then all losing teams they beat ... smh

Just SEC snobbery. All the SEC schools have it, even if they’re not particularly good. I remember an Arkansas player saying that the 2005 USC team was just like an ordinary SEC team before their matchup. The Trojans blasted Arky 70 -17.

If big 12 wins those games against SEC teams, it will be the same as when Texas salted Georgia. The SEC team didn't show up because they weren't interested in playing an inferior team.
Same story OU heard from Bama after the 2014 Sugar Bowl. SEC only seems to be interested in playing in the games they win.

Gators have no reason to talk trash this year. They blew the LSU game via childish behavior, and were sloppy and undisciplined against Alabama. Lazy and sloppy team. As good as OU is playing now I expect them to win.

When are these boys going to learn.
I'm sorry, but you take out Bama and they are just another conference.
Big12, Big10, SEC top 3 all about equal most years, save the Tide and OhioSt.
Right now you have Clemson, Bama, and Tide on one level...generally speaking....and after that the rest of the top 4-15+ every year could all give each other all they could handle on any given day...with 15-25+ doing the same to each other and a few who could beat some ahead of them. The rest is all media hype (which is short for hyperbole dont forget).

Ou, Texas, annual Big12 3rd or 4th place team, Georgia, 3 or 4 best out of aggy, Auburn, Florida, LSU, then Wiscy, Pennst, or whoever is Big10s next 2-3 up, top 2 or so from Pac12, and a couple mid majors or whatever and I think the level of parity far outstrips perception 8 times out of 10.

Agree totally Rain, particularly interesting this abomination of a year when early in the season the B12 looked like a bush league. That sure got turned around. Blasted OU looks like it will just keep on chugging along.

You left out No. 5 with rocket ATM? "Look we are number five but no one believes we can beat a top ten team!" ESPN genius.

[QAUOTE="nashhorn, post: 1799026, member: 18288"]ATM should have played OU, period. Probably like the year they should have played us the SEC opted out.[/QUOTE]
Agreed but SEC goes out of its way to keep atm from making the SEC look stupid for taking them. This year was worse because ultimately atm was a paper tiger and everyone knew it.

The SEC needs to rearrange its Divisions:
Division $EC:
Alabama
LSU
Georgia
Florida

Division Pretenders:
aggy
ole miss
auburn
missouri

Division When does Basketball Start:
The remaining 6

Conference Championship Awardee:
(Not really a Game) Alabama declared the $EC Champ 8 out of 10 Years. LSU and Georgia on time each every 10 years.

CFP
Alabama goes every year; LSU and Georgia get to go in the years they are awarded the $EC Championship.

Florida was decimated from skill players skipping the bowl but I haven't seen a defense that soft since the '96 Fiesta Bowl, and I'm a Nebraska fan that has witnessed a lot of soft defense in recent years.

I find it very ironic that after years of belittling the Big XII for playing no defense, the SEC finally adopted the offenses most Big XII teams run and the same thing has happened in the SEC: high scoring games. Yet the consensus among the media is that the SEC still plays better defense than the other conferences. Truth is, if you have a good QB (and the Big XII has more than most) these offenses are tough to defend.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not criticizing the SEC. It is a good conference. But they aren't that much different than the other Power 5s.

Right. Bama is on a different level more because of talent than scheme. They just have better athletes than anyone else.

Losing your top 4 recievers is a big deal. Now Florida's defense got gutted but I doubt the score is close to a blowout if Trask has those 4 recievers on the field.

When you give up 435 yds on the ground you got punched in the face and curled up like a baby doll. Receivers weren't on D. Your 2nd team D shouldn't give up 435 yds on the ground. OU's top 2 backs based on carries averaged 10 and 12 yds a carry. Florida played like a bunch of girls regardless of who was in there. It was like OU was playing Rice or someone.

I literally just said Florida's D got gutted and you quoted me on that. Glad you agree with that point.

That said, if you think Florida not having their top 4 receiving threats (who did pretty well against Bama's D mind you) didnt play a big role in Florida being unable to stay on the field then you're smoking crack.

Not having those receiving threats in an offense that led FBS in passing yards was the difference between a blowout and a shootout. That defense wouldn't have stopped anyone. They haven't all year, giving up 28pts/game coming in.

Agreed. Instead of a shootout we got a neutered Florida offense that benched their Heisman finalist QB because they couldn't run their first team offense. Florida's defense got torched but this was not a good game at all. OU is much better than Florida gave them credit for but Trask might as well have had one hand tied behind his back.

Florida stunk it out the last part of the year. Lost to LSU from a defensive player throwing a shoe of a WR after a 3rd down stop, sloppy game against Alabama, now this stinker. No focus, no discipline, no effort. Horrid team.

So, if OU beats Florida, why does anyone here think that anyone else across the country will sit and ponder how allsome the Big XII is? After OU has won it 6 times in a row.

All our Big XII are belong to OU.
So, is this happening? Is the Big XII being shown respect for OU winning?

I want to see a show of hands who rooted for OU. I'm going to have @WorsterMan take you behind the woodshed at our DFW Hornfans Soiree in January.
