Finally! It's Game Week...Predict the Score vs Louisiana

Texas 44
ULL 17
Wow....
OK, so....I hope you are right, 11, but I cannot see it.
If the score is anywhere close to this^^^^^ I am going to come to this thread and specifically give you mad props and much deserved credit.(along w anyone else with that kind of prediction)
.. Bold.
That would be an amazing statement by this program IMO.

38-17……Texas. I’m assuming we have much better depth and conditioning. Starting spots still up for grabs so everybody trying to shine…
Cajuns —-will melt faster than a DQ cone in a convertible. And be bitchin about lack of A/C and cramps like their big brother did.

With respect to the thread about Texas being ranked 21, if Texas wins by a low margin and doesn't score in the 40s, at least, then I guess 21 is about right.

Texas 52
U La La 10

Who's pumping the sunshine around here now?

Haven't seen you much lately...
...coming back strong

Hoping it’s not this tight but….
Horns - 34
La - 28

Bonus: Take Kent St and the +30 points vs. Aggie! The Golden Flashes got some “O”

Card Sarks 62
Gumbo Aggie 17
actually gumbo aggie would be LSU, they are the land grant institution here as well as liberal arts....

If we had a pot full of money going to whoever predicts the score accurately I'd take a stab at it. Truth is, however, I have no idea what the outcome of this game might be. My heart says we win. My brain says neither outcome will surprise me.

Well..the closer it gets the more I think of Horns chances of a nice win...may have to reexamine my score.
Alot of it will be Lalas defensive looks vs a raw QB and how he responds.
You can bet they will mix coverages and looks up front and in secondary to deceive him and create doubt.
Still moving more towards Horns margin here for me as we get closer.

Close game at the half, then we wear them down and run away in the second half.

I'm usually the gloom-and-doom guy around here, with fairly regular 7-5 and 8-4 season predictions. But I think we've got this one in the bag.

Firstly, the fact that ULL has neither of their backs from last season. The QB is mobile and all, but I don't think that's going to make a lick of difference with some of the new looks we'll be throwing at them from our defensive side of the ball. If they were preparing for 2017 Texas like Maryland did... maybe it would be a similar result. I refuse to believe that's the case for 2021.

Second, their D was what kept them in close games. Their D never saw anyone with half the talent of our OL or Bijan. We can point to how well they closed out ISU, who had players out due to Covid, but toppling mighty UTSA and Texas State by late defensive battles doesn't exactly instill confidence heading into 2021.

Coastal Carolina was their only game of real significance last year outside of the Labor Day weekend upset. I just don't think they had enough eyes on them to make them feel any pressure. This one's different. Now that people are watching, I think they crumble.

Finally, I think the hype is alive an well for many facets of our program right now. While I'm not sold on the QB, I don't think anyone can discount what our backs and what Coach K will bring on Saturday. As maligned as our DBs were last season, I think we'll see some big hits and turnovers created this weekend. I'd also be super-surprised if Bijan didn't combine for like 200 apy.

Good take and all reasonable points.
I posted this morning that as we inch closer to the game my expected margin of victory for and confidence in the 'Horns grows. I believe our D will live up to the hype this game and season and our offense will be enough this game with a few standout performances from Bijan and a WR...pick one. Still think it will be hard fought for a decent portion of the game. Thanks
