I will make my prediction later this week but I always look forward to the opening week. I didn't see anyone else start a thread for opening week and decided to start a thread.

With that, make your prediction and may the best poster win.
 
New season, new HC, new staff, new QB.... This could be a tough one to predict, but I've seen enough posts and tweets to be confident in mine:

Their offense won't dare to take the field against ours. Our defense will not only show up, but will play! Don't expect the refs to NOT get involved, tho – we all know how that goes. Going out on a limb here, but the the HF's game thread should be something to keep an eye on. Overall, I'm pretty sure the Ragin' Cajuns won't be showing their faces around here again for some time.

Yup, lot of variables in this pick.

3:30 pm kickoff means peak heat of the day on that very hot turf (and in the stands).

Expect a lot of rotation especially in both teams DL. I suspect both Defenses will fatigue faster than the Offenses.

Horns win a close one 20-17.

I think their defense is for real. I think our defense is for really real. :yes:
(As long as we TACKLE!!!!!!!)

I think their QB will be forced into crummy throws a lot. We'll get some turnovers, maybe even some scores off turnovers and special teams. Bijan will shine. Hudson will do good enough against one of the best pass defenses we'll face all year. This is a tough early test, then we cruise with ease past the Hogs and Owls.

I have very high hopes for a Kwiatkowski called D so I am thinking we’ll hold them to under 20.

Not sure about the O but do know the threat Bijan brings, so we may do better than expected.

Pretty sure the last time we play ULaLa was right after Katrina and Horns won 60-3. Ida this week 16 years to day after Katrina is going to play some havoc with their game prep but that isnt VY and crew running out there for the Horns so it wont be 57 point blow out.

U La LA resumes classes tomorrow. Lafayette was on the better side of the storm.
