Final Visit Decisions Could Come Shortly For Hicks

thnx alt for clearing up what had been 'muddy waters' for me! makes perfect sense.

I love Austin, i live in Austin. If I could change one thing about Austin it would be the weather, especially in the summer. (remember this past summer? Brutal). I wish we had San Diego type weather here.

Maybe i am cranky, it has been pretty gloomy, rainy and cool here the last three weeks.

It beat the winters in Ohio for sure, but ughh, i would like to see the sun sometime soon.

I do enjoy weather smack, so the thread derailment doesnt bother me too much

I love Austin too, but if there was one thing I could change it would be that Hicks, Jeffcoat, & Darius White lived there.

HOOK 'EM,

Now Mack just has to convince those 4 that the weather in Austin is better than the weather in the USC-San Diego.

With respect to Hicks, my understanding is that his mom intends to move to be close to him. That being the case, wouldn't the state of the job market in prospective locales be a factor for the family to consider in their decision? I've gotta think that Austin is in much better shape than Florida or Ohio in this aspect. Just a thought.

Also, I love Austin and San Antonio (where I reside currently) and would not trade where I'm at to be in SoCal, but to say that the weather in Central Texas is better than San Diego or LA is just ludicrous.

You guys are getting carried away with this weather nonsense. Seriously. You've probably given more thought to the weather on this thread than Hicks has throughout the entire process. He's been in Austin when it was hot, and he's been here when it was cool. If he cared that much, he would have crossed us off the list a long time ago.

I lived in San Diego (La Jolla mostly) the better part of my life, and I am just fine with the weather in Austin. What kind of weenie would shy away from the best place on Earth because it gets hot there sometimes?

Mom apparently runs a business from home that is transferable.

Florida has apparently made some late hay.

Tress has an in-home left, but it looks like the die, which has been in place along, has been cast enough that Tress is well outside looking in.

Isn't Hicks going to be a spring enrollee? Things are really quite for a guy who is going to be enrolling somewhere right after Christmas. I know he's played it close to the vest (which I really like about this young man) and I never thought he was going to decide early like most of the players we recruit; however, it's getting real late for an early enrollee.

Am I wrong about him planning to be on campus in the spring?

WH I don't know if he is planning on being enrolled in the spring but he has time at UT because I looked at their calendar and their first day of spring classes is January 19, 2010.

San Diego has great weather, yes, but all of that sunshine and lack of rain means your $700k Tierrasanta tract home is going to burn down someday.

I WAS looking for the weather channel and I found it, but I couldnt get the local weather. Only got weather forecast in San Diego.

Hicks will do what is best for him. Hopefully he chooses Texas not only for our program and dominant defense...but also because of our great academics. He can have it all here.
