Final Visit Decisions Could Come Shortly For Hicks

I can't remember the last time a kid had such a lockdown on his recruiting.

Hick's recruitment is like an open book compared to Jackson Jeffcoat.

is it possible these kids are waiting until after the BCS games to decide? Does that really sway opinions this late? I would think by now you would have a pretty firm grasp on your options.

Of course they could be waiting to see what additional coaching changes happen as well.

Don't kid yourself. In most cases the decisions have been made, and the kids are just enjoying the attention that comes with taking it down to the wire.

Darius White is a Longhorn unless his step-dad convinces him that Davis' commitment jeopardizes immediate playing time. Mike Davis lives in an orange house. Corey Nelson is an Aggie. Even if he wanted to be a Longhorn, we've already locked down the No. 1 Linebacker in the country, Jordan Hicks, and don't have room. Jackson Jeffcoat is a Longhorn as well. All of this talk about Dad and everyone forgot about Mom, and Mom would like to have her son close to home in a program that makes her comfortable. We're probably too late with Eric Humphrey, but if we can get him on campus, there's a better than average chance he'll be a Longhorn.

I'll put my predictions out there, for what they're worth.
Davis - Texas
White - Texas
Nelson - Aggy
Hicks - Texas
Jeffcoat - Texas
Humphrey - Elsewhere

would be incredible if true. i'm skeptical but would be glad to proven wrong.

no info from pay sites here, but i just don't see davis and white both coming. i know we just took 1 wideout last year, but that seems a little heavy. even assuming brandon collins won't be back--and i hope he's back.

to paraphrase tolstoy, 'how many wr's does a team need?'

The Ohio State boards say they are OUT for Hicks. The top "insider" Hotmic says "Mr. Hicks good luck at Texas or Florida." This bodes very well since Florida just lost their DC.
Hicks

So, does anyone know if Hicks projects to be more of a Sam, Mike, or Will? I know we cross train most of our guys but I'm just trying to get an idea on where he might line up.

would be an incredible pick-up if this young man comes to the 40. Seems like a match made in heaven for both sides.

As for the comparison to DJ, I like it. I would be very surprised indeed if he's actually as fast as DJ, but what do I know. Even so, a terrific prospect.

If by "low 50's" you mean "mid 60's" then you are correct.

The Link

And Austin reported a high of 102.9 that day, while San Diego had a high of 73.

You're right. 103 is a lot better than 73. I'm guessing that right now, you have the thermostat in your house set to 103, since it's so comfortable at that temperature.

Oddly enough, I was also in San Diego this past 4th of July and that weather link has to be crap. I didn't wear a jacket to dinner, and I was freezing watching the fireworks that night. It was definitely colder than mid-60s at least by the water.

Good Lord, BigWill -- let it go. This thread is supposed to be about THE most bad *** linebacker prospect in the nation heavily considering playing for UT.
I"m glad you like Southern Cal better than Austin, great for you. You're going to be hard pressed to find many people around this web site that agree with you.

my parents live in california and they always remind me to pack a sweater or jacket if we are coming in the summertime.

Always seems weird packing a sweatshirt while sweating my huevos off here in July.

I think I read that Hicks and his family moved to Ohio from South Carolina when he was in the 8th or 9th grade. As the tOSU guy implied earlier the Buckeyes were always on the outside with Hicks and had to work hard to get him to seriously consider them.

I think the basic point of this thread that Hicks can control the weather, though I'm not entirely sure.
