Fall Camp / Practice

What about the rest of his leg? How can you evacuate a knee without the thigh and calf?
I just hope they properly evaluated before evacuating. SMH...This is worse than Afghanistan.
Man...dude could have been boss for us.
Hope our medical staff knows what they are doing. This team can ill-afford any further evacuations...especially at key positions.

In response to a Chip Brown question about his 3 biggest concerns, Kwiatkowski said: (1) tackling, (2) conditioning - especially for a day game in the hot sun, and (3) depth.

“Fundamentals are important, it’s a process, it takes reps, sometimes the drills get monotonous…”.

“I’m not a big yeller and screamer.”

Schooler, BJ, Cook earned his praise.

He’s teaching rugby style tackling—interesting…

I personally like the idea of getting the guy to the ground and not worrying about making the highlight reel.

He’s also teaching stripping techniques (football guys, football…).

Flood interview highlights:

Sark’s play calling will help us out.

Kerstetter’s flexibility to play all five positions well gives him a lot of options. He really likes Kerstetter. Wants the best five on the field and cross trains G, T, C as needed. He has to.

He talks really fast. NJ/Rutgers roots.

Pushing improvement, we have a lot of work to do, but we are improving.

Prefers BIG linemen, but they’ve also got to be able to do outside zone blocking, pull, etc.

We are a pro-style run, play action offense.

Banks interview—

We’ll use 2 TEs about 1/3 of the time.

He’s pleased with Brewer and Wiley. the young TEs are coming along— (TE position will be used and is looking pretty good).

Dicker impresses him.
Pearson is a pleasant surprise.

Standouts on return teams:: BJ, Josh Thompson, Ibrahim, Blackwell

He wants us to believe it is legal to use the TE's in the passing game? What a novel idea but is it legal?

A handful of post Saturday 8/21 scrimmage statements by Sark.

- Sark still not pleased with the Offense, especially the WRs.
- The QBs still need work.
- (no complaints about the OL, at least not this time)
- Xavier Worthy sidelined with illness (not Coronavirus).
- Hudson vs. Casey -- it's still a tight competition, could come down to Sark's "gut feel."
- No INTs were thrown by either Hudson or Casey on Saturday!

Everything Steve Sarkisian said after Texas' scrimmage on Saturday

Morning Brew: Sarkisian's biggest decision of Year 1 at Texas

And check out this new "Big Beertha" beer truck - 15 taps for pre-game. I wonder if they'll roll that up to away games at Waco? Maybe this could pacify visiting Red Raiders who are pissed off over us bolting the conference...

Ja’Tavion Sanders may work his way into the lineup at TE and catch a lot of passes. While Wiley and Brewer are proven and steady, Sanders has phenom talent and he doesn’t drop much. This staff wants to heavily utilize the TEs. Man, it’s been a long time since that’s happened around here…

I remember having the freaky Jermichael Finley at TE—I would be willing to do that again

Me too, and I like Wiley.* Supposedly, we'll go with 2 TEs in the formation about 1/3 of the time. Liebrock is apparently hurt; I don't know the details. Sanders will likely have a chance to step up and play, and play early. It's up to him.

*plus, with former high school QB Wiley in there, we've got some potential for some tricky plays out of the TE / H-back position.

I never understood why Herman never utilized two guys that were former high school quarterbacks in any trick plays in Wiley and Johnson.

Worthy will make plays....and hopefully Joshua will be ballin...but I fear for the possibility of neither JWhitt nor Omeire being on the field. We may survive without one but won't thrive with neither

I bet Kai $ will continue to be an important part of our receiving corps. While lacking in exceptional measurable skills, he gets open and catches the darn ball.

Hmm, we may be minus whit and Omeire in the first couple of games.
Washington and dixon will have to step up.
Tight ends may play a bigger role.
So Moore or Worthy or K Robinson may have a lot of catches. We will probably turn the run game loose.
