Exit Polls: Obama Smoking HRC

Obama is up in like 4-5 other states being counted right now that havent even been called yet

Either way...it looks like he at worst prob holds serve or could end up with a nice night

Think with your brains.....not with your hearts. There is a great deal of truth in what laphroaig is saying about 48/40.

GOP's only chance is to have HRC win for the Dems, the GOP will sling a ton of mud at her about her lack of experence and Bills sexual problems as President and it might work, they have no chance of beating Obama, he gets the black vote and the female vote along with a lot of the white vote. Some people are calling Obama a John Kennedy like Dem, that is worth a **** load of votes

I hope you're right SII.

I am hoping for a big west coast showing.

Hillary wins the NE, Obama wins the west...

California is going to be huge

Exit polls had Kerry beating W. And we know how that turned out.

Question for the politicos:

Don't you think a Clinton/Obama ticket (either way) will carry more weight than either candidate alone with a different VP candidate on board? Simply comparing McCain to either Clinton or Obama seems to ignore the effect that the other would have on voters as the VP candidate (which I ultimately expect to see happen).

I just cannot see either agreeing to be the other's VP. Obama would be hashing it out with Bill for turf and he doesn't need that grief. Both of them would be better off in the Senate as powerhouses than VP.

Also, if Obama loses, he has still set himself up as the presumptive nominee the the next time the Dems need to pick a candidate. He would almost certainly prefer to return to the Senate and get his name on some piece of legislation on which he could campaign next time.

Obama's political career is far from over if he loses this primary. He's extremely popular in Illinois and can stay a senator there as long as he wants. Or he can run for governor although I think he is a better fit at the national level. He's only 46, so can run again for president many more times. Moreover, because he's so young, if he loses people can pass it off on youth or the ruthless Clinton machine, so he won't have the baggage of a losing effort.

I don't know. I think Obama's youth and promise is his current selling point. He won't ever be able to run on the young hotshot platform again. Its now or never for that. He'll have to run on his merits and record next time and we still have yet to see what that will really be.

He had a double digit lead in the NJ polls. Lost
He had the endorsement of the D Gov and both Sens from Mass. Lost.
Lost TN.
Lost MO
CA still remains to be seen, but early numbers aren't good.

Close, yes. What he wanted? No.

A.P. Delegate Count

Clinton 410
Obama 331

2,025 Needed

McCain 349
Romney 95
Huckabee 123

1,191 Needed

The exits set expectations really high for Obama. Had they not come out I think the mood for him would have been better. Other than that, he's exactly where he wants to be.

If CA holds, Hillary will take Texas. OH is tossup, advantage Barack due to the African American population of the metro areas.
