Ewers

thinking about Ewers deep ball throws.
To these eyes, his long throws have been much better this year. Some have observed that he is more accurate down the middle of the field, and less, to the sidelines. Also, in my opinion, there had been a trajectory issue, which may have been corrected this year. The two beautiful bombs in Tuscaloosa were both high arched passes, allowing the receivers to run under them and make adjustments.

I believe that Ewers is very close to being the quarterback we all had hope he would be. However, he does not possess the escapability or running skill set that someone like Colt had. I’m not talking about a duel threat quarterback, but rather a quarterback who can pull it down when he needs to, and make a critical or 5 to 10 yard run for a first down. The defense does not fear this from Ewers, and this area is where I believe Arch Manning will separate himself from the pack once it is his time.

I promise you, you want a third year QB who is playing very well (not great yet) in his second year going into the SEC and going to Michigan week 2.
Agree, but not sure Ewers is that QB. He was a Riley Dodge protege in high school which put him on a pedestal, but he did not win a state championship. Not playing his senior year robbed him of playing maturity which still is present in his game.

First off, I think Ewers is the best throwing QB we’ve had in a long time. He’s improved a lot since last season and I’m happy with him as a Horn.

Buechele was a better passer. And if you put Sam in Sarkisian's offense my guess is Sam would fare better as well

And let's not forget Cam Rising was here. He didn't play but just adds one more

Garrett Gilbert in Sarkisian's offense would have been a good fit (not in Greg Davis). 9 yrs in the NFL. Don't see that in ewers future, but time will tell

At least he can run for a 30 yard touchdown. :D

He is not. NFL ready. He still throws to option, or a predetermined spot on the field, most of the time.
He misses wide open receivers alll the time.

makes me wonder if Sark even lets him, or if he is just being coach joystick.

hOPEFULLY QE has a great finishing of this year and decides to go pro. I would rather not lose Malik or Arch to the portal. I agree with DEt Shilala in his assessment of QE..

Maybe it is just my observation of Quinn, but he seems to be getting better in all phases with each game and experience.
Maybe the extra year is what he needs.
If he stays, hopefully we can hold on to both Maalik and Arch.
Because there is that fact that Quinn has not shown he can stay healthy each game. So no doubt, Arch and Maalik would play a ton of games next season.

Just wondering if everyone returned next year would Manning be given the chance to win the starting job?
