ESPN College Pickem Season -Hornfans group

weather in florida and the SE in general is going to make a few of those games this week...interesting.

Waiting to see if any get moved or rescheduled...
 
Wonder how they’ll score the UCF game?
I had 8 on it. I thought they would play it out on Oct 5, but it now says cancelled. If so, they usually make it a 10 for everyone and delete.
Hopefully they won’t leave the scores as is-would suck…

I haven't looked today, but the message on their site yesterday was that it would not be included in scoring...

Game. Poor Exist and others had a 10 on them. Rain had a 3, but we all know Rain lives a charmed life-haha.
In years past they made the Cancelled game a 10, which was smart.
 
Some of you are off to a great start.. Good job!!

Don't run out of juice like USC, Tennessee, and a few others are bound to do this year...

Tough week of games! I expect big changes in the rankings. Hopefully I won’t drop like a stone.

Injuries in key positions made some even more challenging...I put the ALA/TEN game in a low range because of the uncertainty of Bryce Young. But even with him starting, I don't have a great deal of confidence in my picks.

This is one of those weeks where, if I were in Vegas, I come downstairs, look at the board, shake my head, and just say 'nope.'
 
I lost on Kansas and Okie State
but rallied with Kentucky, Utah.
 
Took a few risks and it generally worked out..misssed a few too.
Had Tennessee at 6 pts until 15 minutes before the start...didnt like the injury report...BY in and Tenn missing two of their best players. Great win for rocky tops but bama is not the same this year.
Got Utah and that was a double win (cuz, you know, Linc and all).
Some usc fan said its ok they are entering an easier stretch of the schedule.
Easier stretch!?!? That schedule couldn't have been easier if it were a peewee league.
Missing on Miss St dinged me.
Tough ...but fun..week

Can I lean over and peek at someone's picks please?!? I see approximately 0-2 "locks".
Think I'll give this to my 3year old this week or put names in a hat.
Whoever comes out strong Saturday night will have earned it.

Winning is hard.

Looked at the slate for the first time on Tuesday and had just one thought...

These are the sorts of slates that make me hate confidence leagues. Give me a spread any day of the week...

Yeah...locks for winners are few and far between IMO....but I do see a couple of juicy spreads.

I understand how the spread works. What I don't get is the guys who say they'll bet a game at 2.5 but not 3. I despise back door covers regardless of who they benefit.

Ideally, you don't want to be sitting on a key number. The potential for a push just makes it not worth the time going to the counter...

The other thing is that sometimes, with a key number, the juice is higher than one might prefer. For the ten dollar bettor, it might not be a big deal. For a larger bettor, it makes a difference.
 
Yeah what I have at 8,9 should be 1,2
The only upside for me is that their will be shakeups this week.

Rain-I’m not finding 2 for sure locks yet
 
I will personally be surpised if all three of Clemson, bama, and UGA make it out of the week unscathed. I smell one of those going down.

I would suggest at least two of those three, if not all of them, could see a loss on the tally after Saturday dust has settled...
 
Huge kick in the balls week for.me.Finish out this year and be done with it probably. Lost my mojo a few years back.

Exist -we’ve all been there, at least you haven’t quit. Half the entries have quit. And 90% of the board won’t compete.
Big day for me and LHASOB, but a lot of football left.
 
3 weeks left with a very tight competition for the win and podium. 29 people started -13 are still fighting.
I got clobbered last week after a great week prior.
This week is tough as well. Bueno Suerte. Anyones game…

Last week was my worst ever in what has to be 20 years of playing. As of today I'm going to be in Bowl Mania and then done. As I said previously I've lost my mojo.
 
I didn't get entries in last week...I really hate the crappy ESPN password-reset interface on a mobile device. It would leave a pop-up window to enter the new code from the email, but when you flipped back over from the email, the pop-up window was gone.

I'll put entries in this week, but no real effort is going in on the picks...

The 2022 ESPN season is over= recap
It was a tough year where we had over 30 entries, and it seemed everyone had weeks were they got schooled. e.g. After week one I was in 18th. Congrats to all competitors who hung in there and battled.
X finished in the top 1% in the nation. All the people below finished in the top 10% in the nation.
Congrats to the Winner - X

1st Gold: X (new)
2nd Silver: Horn CPA (new)
3rd Bronze: Steve in Austin (Previous winner)

4th Honorable Mention- Creek (Silver last year)

Well, congrats whoever you are.
Agree w Creek...it was as challenging of a year as I can recall. Alot of firsts and worsts this season for me...though .I guess my ending position wasnt too terrible.
Good thing is it reflects growing parity in CFB..at least to some degree.lots of hard to call games and 50/50 plays.

Good competing to those who stuck it out.
Don't give up, IDE! You're one of the best and a HF pick em star.

On to BowlMania.....which is more challenging than ever.
