'English' Names for Asian People

I'm glad I saw this topic. I'm living in China right now, and have about 400 students altogether over my 2 jobs. Some interesting names include (I am making up none of these):

Radiohead
Snoopy
Vision
Smilen
Winter
Ready
Runner-up
Bever
and last but not least.......

Imaginationfish. Swear to god.

You have to understand that English names are just sounds for the most part. As stated earlier, a lot of people will choose a transliteration of their Chinese name ( ke ni = connie for example).

Interesting stuff.

I work for a Japanese company. All the guys who come from overseas take English names or they shorten there names. The English names are usually picked over a couple of beers Elvis has been propsed but never adopted by any of them...yet.

We've got a Keith, Mike, Kenny, Scott, Ken, etc. We've also got a Kaz (Kazahiro), Tad (Tadashi), Dash (Tadashi)....and Shingo (Shingo - his was too good to change).

To really fit in and mean something, may I personally recommend for consideration:

Mack
Darrell
Vince
Earl
Tommy
Ricky
Steve (Worster of course)
James (Street or Saxon - your choice)
Scott (Appleton or Henderson)
Ron (as in McKelvey
