Courts need to step in at some point, and of course, our media is useless. Somebody in that room should have asked Jean Pierre, "you're watching them for what and to do what?" Instead of letting them operate in this vague but threatening rhetoric, make her define what they're looking for and what they'll do if it happens. They won't do that because the group that used to be the biggest defenders of free speech and press rejects those values and is basically willing to go full Goebbels if it's for an adminstration and issues they like.

The problem is that the courts are getting more and more left and allow this nonsense.

You make a good point. But as we saw any cases that tried to get before the court in 2020 were thrown out or ruled against for other reasons.

On KJP's fascist threat I am guessing she wouldn't call on Peter Doocy. The WH keeps a tight rein on those allow access to. Unlike Trump who would and did answer questions from a hostile press.

This particular issue hasn't been brought before the courts. The idea of a government authority directly attacking a media outlet or platform to force it to censor would be a matter of first impression - mainly because, other than perhaps during wartime, it has always been assumed that it was flagrantly illegal

I don't think SCOTUS or anything other than the most partisan appellate courts would allow it. Sadly, I suspect the DC circuit would. It has an Obama/Biden majority.

If Doocy was in the room, I'm surprised he wasn't yelling questions to her. It's one of the most outrageous and authoritarian things to ever come from the White House press podium.
 
It must be as frustrating to you being in the UK as it is to us here when the Demx do outrageous chit over and over and over and get away with it

I was referring to Garm's point about Arizona. You quoted his point so I thought you were referring to that as well

What I find interesting is that Rep. Ro Khanna (who's a hardcore leftist congressman from the SF Bay Area) warned Twitter that they were doing something wrong on the Hunter Biden story and friggin' eviscerated their BS excuse about publishing hacked materials. Link.

Good for Khanna for at least trying to do the right thing, but there should have been hundreds of Ro Khannas. Instead, there was only one - one Democrat who gave a **** about free speech and free press. One. Let that sink in.

Just based on bits I've read here and there (which means nothing) but I'm not sure it was Dorsey who took Twitter down this path - although maybe he could have prevented it being done by others, idk
 
The more and more I read the reports the worse and worse it gets. Many areas of government were contacting Twitter directly telling them specifically what tweets to take down and which accounts to take offline.

Even Mike McCarthy was telling Twitter to ban another Republican Congressman. You know who McCarthy didn't want off of Twitter? Any Democrat on the planet. Republicans only punch to the right with stuff like this.
