Snobbish would be saying, "I have the credential and you don't, and you just need to shut up and accept what I say." That isn't what I did, and I've never done something like that in the 15 years I've been here. I explained why that subsection differs from the others by looking at the language in it. If that's not enough, I'm happy to elaborate further on the matter, but you summarily dismissed it without explanation. And it's fine if you want to do that, but you shouldn't get pissed if I bring up my expertise. It's not ego, and it's not to "shut you down." It's to encourage you to listen and take it seriously. I was trying to help.
I don't think I'm better than anyone else here, but I do have an area of expertise, and this just happens to be it. I was a legislative aide for 4 years, got a law degree, and practiced for 12 years. That's a lot of experience reading and sometimes writing statutes. And it shouldn't offend anyone if I mention it when relevant, just as it wouldn't offend me if I ran my mouth about something related to engineering and mchammer said, "in my x number of years of experience as an engineer, I've found that not to be the case." In fact, I'd value what he said, and I wouldn't think he was arrogant or throwing his dick around just for bringing that up. That's how we learn from others outside our own fields.
But it's all good. You guys state whatever legal takes you want to, and I'll just nod along. I won't correct anybody anymore or comment. Don't want to be a snob or "throw my dick around."

First, on a legal matter, you shouldn't walk away. It's not an argument. It's an analysis of a statute.
Second, I didn't rub **** in your face. I made a joke about something we both joke about all the time, and at least initially, you saw the humor in it.

No, I'm not saying that at all. Do I think my expertise warrants a degree of deference? Of course, but I'm more than happy to engage those who disagree or just want to apply scrutiny and ask questions. I've done it here for years. I've never shut anyone down.

I think that
many people had forgotten the circus and cloud of negativity that surrounds Trump wherever he goes.
They recall the good things he did, and I do believe he did some good things.
4 years of Joe will do that to you! I also had forgotten just how loathsome Trump could be.
But, then he goes on Brett Beir's show, and it all comes spilling out.
The excuses, the blame, the hubris, the bluster, and everything came flooding back to me, and many others, I believe.
Most of all I loath his "poor me" and his constant bragging.
Trump then proceeds to blast Beir for asking him, you know, questions, and not letting him steamroll and bow before him.
Trump has learned nothing, in fact he is worse than he was before.
I don't mind mean tweets, but I do mind his ego, the way he casually insults everyone who doesn't agree with him, and, the fact that he is determined to not learn from his past.
The polls may/probably will show me wrong, but I think the more he speaks, the more people will recall the turbid times of life under his presidency.
My hope is this helps people decide America can't live through another term of his Presidency.
To me, learning from your past mistakes is the sign of a true leader. What did I do wrong, have I worked to correct it, and how might I present this improved version of myself to the public.

True, 6721. But the problem is that his manner wasn't viewed as "Presidential." People turned out to vote against him - they weren't really for Biden. And I fear the same thing would occur in 2024 if DJT is the nominee.

I agree. And I'm not sure cheating at the ballot is needed this time. Seems he's more and more self destructive as time goes by. He was a very productive potus, but I think those days are behind him now and everybody can sense it

The GOP has a deeper bench than the Dems, but it could be too deep and we have a repeat of the last election. Everyone splits in to small groups and we end up with Trump.
I think DeSantis, and maybe Nickie Hailey would be a good pair, but it's too soon to tell.

Trump’s numbers are slowly declining. I think his decision to not participate in the debate will further erode his margin. However, I also think he loses more if he does participate because he will undoubtedly go unhinged when attacked.
I could support a DeSantis Haley ticket, but I think a DeSantis Scott ticket might be stronger in the general.

I think Trump will be slapped with "seditious conspiracy" in DC by Jack Smith. Yeah, it's BS but that will be the end of Trump.
Of course, the trial may not end before the 2024 election so who knows.
I could vote DeSantis Youngkin too.
What I think is funny is that the classified documents case is set for trial on August 14, 2023. Does anyone think there's a snowballs chance of that actually happening? In theory, I'd love to see things move that quickly, but that's ridiculous.
I think Newsom is pretty beatable. He is very smug, has a terrible record that is easy to attack in swing states, and he broke his own Covid rules. If we can run a serious campaign that isn't on defense 24/7 (meaning not Trump), he should get manhandled.
Cannon is making everybody involved in the case get security clearances. That alone will take months and will probably go beyond August 14th.

It makes me wonder why she chose a date that early. Maybe she just wanted to light a fire under everybody's ***. Yes, it'll almost surely get continued, but if one side is farting around and wasting time, while the other side isn't, the one that is might get hosed.
