6721, not really confusing. Straight ticket voting is just that - pull/push the party ticket and the computers go directly to the vote count. (On the only voting machines you could vote straight ticket, but go back and un-vote and vote for one of the other party.)

Texas did the right thing by outlawing straight-ticket voting.

Viper, there are dissenting opinions on that issue. No biggie for me - it just means I have to go down the ballot one race at a time and mark the GOP candidate in each slot. If it means that some who would vote straight-ticket Dem now might split their votes down-ballot, that's a good thing.

Virginia is pretty much a lost cause for the GOP. Arlington, Alexandria, et al, basically are suburbs of D.C. - and they owe their livelihood to the federal government. Otherwise they might have to work for a living!
