Obama is a big liberal, but I don't think he's an authoritarian leftist like the Democratic base is fast becoming.
I'm sure Obama received no criticism for those comments from the media, which he shouldn't. Does anyone think Trump would be given the same treatment?

Disagree. The more we find out about Obama after he left, the worse he appears. He worked in the shadows, probably why he was re elected. Sanders and Warren, if elected, would be one termers.
And probably more transparent and less dirty tricks.
But the damage they could do IN that one term is irreparable...
The left is doing everything possible to ensure that the United States of America does not survive to see its 300th birthday, to say nothing of trying to put the 250th into question...

According to the student, the protesters “were stopping innocent students simply trying to walk to their classes by harassing them and forcing their own beliefs onto these students.”
“Campus is supposed to be a safe environment and I was extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in FSU today,” the student said. “Nothing was being done to protect students from this harassment.”
“I understand that freedom of speech is a crucial part of today’s world, however, it should not be to this extent while on a school campus,” the student wrote in a March complaint to the FSU campus behavior reporting system."
I almost feel sorry for her for when she get into the real world But I am not sure there is real world left.

I think Obama is decent person, but speaking of unlikable...
Congress is making me defend Mark Zuckerberg, liberals are making me defend Donald Trump, and so on it goes. So much of society is so full of such idiocy that it is pushing people to reluctantly take sides with even some of the easiest folks to dislike.

It's the story of the last several years. Instead of offering a sane alternative to Trump, the Democrats are offering blatant lunacy. I think that's one of the reasons they're taking up impeachment. It's diverting a lot of attention away from the lunacy that is defining their primary. The problem is that eventually impeachment will die down, and the freak show will return. We'll have a bunch of candidates endorsing tens of trillions of new spending that they can't pay for, effectively supporting an open border, and radicalism on social issues. What do they expect sane people to do?
As Jonah Goldberg says, "Trump can't win, but Democrats can lose." This is what he's talking about. All they had to do was not be crazy, and that was too much for them.

I've never understood why they ever got lumped together. The assumptions underlying gay marriage and gay rights in general get completely ripped apart by trans issues and gender theory. Furthermore, the agendas couldn't be more different. One agenda is largely libertarian. The other is pretty much totalitarian.
