I had the exact same fear when Trump won. However, I think the opposite may have happened. I think the Dems have made a huge strategic error in combating Trump that will cost them for many elections to come. The amount of derangement over Trump's victory has caused the Dems to run to the extreme left.

It's so satisfying to finally see them admit what I suspected for decades - they are an extreme party of socialism, open borders, and identity politics. My father has been a lifelong Democrat and we have often argued about politics. I always claimed that Dems were just good at hiding their true intentions. He now agrees with me and actually is tempted to vote for Trump in the next election.
