I hope the Army convenes an Article 32 hearing for Bergdahl ASAP
Oh sure he sent personal effects home including his laptop and yes he left his weapon and uniform in his tent as he freely walked off- is any of that in dispute ?
is there any dispute that voluntarily leaving your post and your unit members is desertion?
We will never know if he helped the enemy but we do know he deserted but he still deserves the UCMJ's process.

I hope he doesn't get coached up enough to sway public opinion enough that it then sways the military courts.
This ' oh he has suffered' enough" spin denigrates the people who honorably served.

Are you trying to sugest he only went AWOL?
perhaps You can offer an intelligent explanation, using the facts known about Bergdahl that might show he only went AWOL.

The guy sends home his personal effects, leaves his military gear and walks off his position leaving his fellow members behind. Not even taking the emails he sent to his Father into account,
I am sure to someone like you the spin that he intended to return plays well. Keep on hanging onto that.
I also know he will be coached up to insist exactly that..
