actually didn't know the real back story on Bergdahl and how much of it would come out?

Or how the America people would react learning 6 brave and honorable Americans ( including a Texas Lt)were killed trying to get his traitorous (allegedly)*** back?

Even MSM is pointing out that once again BO ignored our laws?

OR do you think he is so arrogant that he didn't care as long as it deflected from what the VA has done?
Does he think MSM will let come around and praise him for bringing a brave soldier who served with " distinction and honor 'back?
As distractions go this one is nearly as horrible as the real one he was trying to deflect.

I think both will stay in the news for a long time as the horror done in each touches so may lives. Vets and their families and brave soldiers who were killed over someone who willingly deserted(hard to not believe the many who served with him and were there including Texas Lt Andrews who had told his parents Bergdalh deserted.

Unlike you I don't purport to know all the facts within 48hrs of the announcement.

Does this Bergdahl situation look odd? Absolutely given he vacated his post with only a compass and the clothes on his back. Does that mean unequivocally he deserted? I'll wait for more information before I make that leap of faith.

Does this embolden the enemy? You don't think the Taliban is always trying to capture American troops for leverage? Heck, any Americans qualify.

Israel does this all the time. Evidently they think it's more important to retrieve their soldier than you do. Damn that liberal Netanyahu.

The most concerning fact that has come out so far about the Bergdahl situation is his dad's beard. Oh Lordy!!

Meanwhile, I'll sit back and let the situation unfold before I jump to conclusions.
 
Don't forget his Dad's praising of Allah with the POTUS standing beside him. Keep your head buried in the sand though.

General Dempsey,Joint chiefs Chairman announced The Army will investigate charges that rescued Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl deserted his post in Afghanistan.

A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl had walked away from his unit before being captured by the Taliban, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. And according to The New York Times, Bergdahl left a note in his tent saying he was disillusioned with the U.S. Army and did not support the U.S. mission in Afghanistan.


Thank goodness the Army showed good sense in not sending anymore rescue missions to retrieve this guy.

Bo and his minions must be shocked at all they are finding out .BO thought he could spike another football over this. Instead the facts, in the form of Lucy, have pulled his ball away from him.

instead of deflecting away from the VA debacle and instead of a victory moment for BO this sure puts a damper on his DDay trip.

The DOD has known and has admitted knowing they knew where this deserter was for years but were not willing to risk anymore honorable troops to save a deserter.

So far the spin coming from Bo and his minions is the weakest most ridiculous attempts yet by BO and his ilk.

It was reported that the deserter is refusing to speak English to the people at Landstulhl
Funny he could still speak English on the vids sent out including one in April.

yes it is my OPINION Sgt. Bergdahl should be court martialed, based on what is known now and has been known and reported on for years. I am entitled to my opinion and being court martialed does not automatically mean guilty.
Nothing that is coming out now changes the allegation he deliberately left his post and his fellow troops with no intention of coming back.
In fact all that is coming out now from DOD and even the men who served with him makes his case even more despicable. I am glad Dempsey has said there will be a gull investigation and if necessary a court martial. That seems fair.Let's hope BO doesn't try to stop that.

How about the General who in 2012 told an ABC attended promotion ceremony that Bergdahl left and went over to the other side> was that General coached by a GOP strategist?

Stop with the facts. They are too busy defending Obama.

Regardless:

1) Obama broke the law again
2) He is placing all soldiers and citizens in danger of being kidnapped
3) He placed all Americans in danger by releasing 5 known terrorists that even he said were not ready to be released just a few months ago.

All I hear from the left is defense of the Taliban. Sickening.
 
Normally, I try not to rush to judgment.

However, when I read that this 30-day rule was violated, I began to build an opinion. Then, I read that the Senate Intelligence Chairperson Feinstein was not notified in advance of the release of the 5 Taliban. Hmm, that doesn't sound like an up and up way to handle this event.
However, I read that one Senate member, Harry Reid, was in fact informed a few days before the swap took place, and that was all it took for me to unequivocally believe that this stinks to high hell.
Due process can take a hike. Try this "soldier" for the highest crimes a military court will allow.

And, no, Rog, I'm no "bircher", no Tea Partier, no racist.

so not only is the GOP forcing the Deserter's army unit people to make up stories about Bergdahl but the GOP controls CNN ABC CBS even NYTimes now too.

All this is just political to make BO look bad for violating laws and freeing this honorable and distinguished soldier

I'm on the fence about rescuing a deserter or even doing a POW exchange with a regular sovereign professional army. If the risk to our troops are either too great not to act (a la a traitor with intel) or acceptable to send patrols to search for a deserter...I wouldn't necessarily be against it for the principles the President lays out. I don't know if this situation fits either case (it doesn't sound like this case would fit either of my 2 criteria), but I'm just speaking in principle.

What I categorically disagree with is legitimizing terrorism in an irregular war by negotiating with them. It would be borderline with a SEAL or Hornet pilot with a Navy Cross...giving away a starting 5 of mass murdering terrorists for a potential deserter is ridiculous.

This concept is something so apolitical/obvious/simple that it's mind-blowing that, again, Obama decides to do the exact opposite of what any semi-informed military executive would do. The only conclusion that makes sense is the appeal this action has with his non-militarily cultivated base. I'm not a John Kerry fan, but something tells me he wouldn't have been onboard for this one. Susan Rice? She''s like Ron Burgundy...she'll read anything they give her on Sunday morning.
 
If "Birchers" are anti-Taliban, count me in. I actually expect R35 to come out and defend Obama, but some of the other poster support is surprising given all of the evidence.

I never knew Roger35 was pro-Taliban, but if Obama says they are good people, I know Roger believes him.
