Do you have a class ring?

So Aggies think that only they should have class rings? This is news to me. I thought that every high school and college had class rings.

No. I don't have a class ring for high school or UT.

The only thing I wear is a very thin copper bracelet on my right wrist. I don't know that I particularly agree in the idea that the absorption of copper into the skin helps prevent arthritis, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, or rheumatism.

Mostly, I wear it because it reminds me of my mother since I bought it in Santa Fe, NM. My mother lives in NM, and I'm trying to remember her because she was my greatest teacher and I want to keep her in my mind because she is not going to be around much longer.

Yeah, weird, I know.

That's a little off topic, I know; but we're sort of talking about things that you wear that are important to you.

Wore a high school ring for a while during college. Did not get a college ring as it didn't occur to me. Or was too expensive.

Later on down the road, I have a wedding ring on one hand, and a ring my grandmother gave my grandfather for xmas 1911. No room for others.

Of course aggy is obsessive about the ring thing, and I couldn't do it now even if there was room.

Sure, I'm proud of being a UT engineering grad.

I bought a UT ring and wore it at work for several years after I graduated. I wear it very rarely now and it feels heavy and weird on my finger when I do wear it. I have a wedding to go to in April that will be attended by folks that have graduated from Universities all over, so I may wear it to that, now that you mention it.

Never bought a HS ring... combination of no money and not finding much sense in it, as there was no sense of accomplishment.

I have a callous on my wedding ring finger, so in trying to get rid of it, I'm not wearing either one right now.

I have a high school ring that's been sitting in a box on my dresser for the last 20 years. I didn't buy a college ring because I wasn't much into wearing rings back then. Just wear a wedding band these days.

Funny this thread came up because I've been wondering what the current value of the hs ring would be with the price of gold up right now. I also have a gold nugget ring from an old girlfriend that I wouldn't hesitate to sell.

I have a UT ring that I wear most of the time. It does get confused for an aggy ring now and again, which is annoying. It also makes a damn fine bottle opener, which is pretty cool.

Never got a college ring as they were always too high school for me anyhow. The best thing to me about my high school class ring was getting it "turned" by the hot chicks and telling several of them they were the final turn and thus obligated to kiss me. As well as the final use of the ring mentioned above...

No class ring...always thought they looked pretty dorky. It would be one thing if you were an athlete showing off a National Championship ring but a college graduation? I graduated with 5-10k of other people from the U of Washington. If not for being the first member of my family to graduate with a Bachelor's I wouldn't have bothered to walk in the ceremony.

I got one when I graduated as a gift from my dad. I have it so I wear it. However, I don't think I would buy one today since I'm married with kids and a mortgage - money is better spent elsewhere.

I have a Texas ring and wear it on game days. I am glad to have it as I always wanted to go to Texas and worked my *** off to get in and graduate!

have one and wore it proudly every day until i got married. now i wear the wedding band only. never much of a jewelry guy and two rings is too much for me. only wear the college ring now when i'm headed to campus or to a UT sports event.

never considered one at UT, i was too busy trying to keep my bank balance above $20.00, so i could use the ATM and lift peperoni rolls from the Double Dave's buffet.

if your balance is $19.99, ATMs are useless i found.

Had a high school ring, cashed it in for a UT ring. Wear the UT ring to football games and when I'm watching UT play on TV. It is an important part of my game mojo. When things are bad, I flip it around (I also flip my baseball cap around in a rally stance). Works about half the time. If I don't have the ring, and the team loses, I blame myself for not having done my game thing to support the team.
