I haven’t seen it here and perusing the official article it is only peripherally mentioned. The similarity with Texas orange and the shade of the J5V football. The official NCAA rules forbid colors that are identical to the shade of the football. Texas orange does not meet that exclusion dry, on the hanger. That line becomes very blurred and likely crossed when the wearer of that jersey is thoroughly sweat soaked through the fabric. When deeply soaked with sweat, the burnt orange darkens to a shade eerily identical to the J5V. A point that DKR had noticed.

I guess we’re lucky that the NCAA hasn’t mandated that footballs be fluorescent green to improve their visibility.

Getting back to the grass field topic … there’s this news item about the grass field for the recent Super Bowl. As noted earlier in this thread, a grass field has to be done right.
