Devean George is a Tool

A players "Bird Rights" allow a team to resign a player currently under contract despite going over the salary cap. When a player gets traded, his Bird Rights go with him, so I'm not sure how this is relevant to Devean George.

The issue is that George does not qualify for full Bird Rights since he is on his 2nd contract with the Mavs. Full Bird Rights do follow a traded player, but Early Bird Rights do not. That is why George has a right to block the trade. He would be forfeiting his Early Bird Rights if he was traded to NJ.
