Debate No.1 Game Thread

Yes.

Romney is very bright.

Obama is stuttering because he is arguing about something that Romney isn't saying.

Obama looks annoyed and pissed off. It has been a while since he got his hands dirty.

I'm voting Romney.

But his PBS joke is just typical of his problem. Why even make a joke about that? Who doesn't like PBS? Even if it's in the plan, why make a sad joke about how you'd cut it? Freaking pick something that no one has heard of or hates.

It's funny to hear BO talking about cutting the deficit. He wouldn't know a cut if it bit him on the butt.

Romney needs to keep focusing on obamas failed record especially on the economy and the debt.

Most sane people in the rest of the country know the republican party has done their best to sabotage any attempts to help the economy.

I like Jim but he is getting run over by both candidates. Need a stronger personality to keep the two in check. I wish Tim Russert was still around.

Medicare has lower administrative costs than a private insurance company? BS

_________________________________________________________________________________________________

Do you dispute that Medicare has lower administrative costs? I thought that this was pretty much accepted fact? Do you believe Medicare is less efficient just because it stands to reason that private industry would be more efficient? Here's about the third link I pulled up on the subject from a Google Search. The Link

Obama tried to get the mod to change the subject when he was getting schooled. Was looking at the mod 90% of the time. Could barely look at at Romney.

Romney won this debate.

By the way, I see the Stormin Mormon as the clear winner in this debate, he was sharper and showed his moderate side, which enabled him to accomplish a lot in Massachusetts. If I could support Mitt Romney, 2004 version, I could do so with enthusiasm The Modified to Win the Tea Party Centric 2012 GOP Model Romney still has a little sellin to do to allay concerns about a return to policies that failed us.

In my experience, having watched both candidates debate quite a few times over the years, it seems that these were pretty typical and normal debate performances by both of them. It appears that most people thought Romney won. That surprises me none at all, as Romney has always been a very good debater. And while Obama is a good debater himself, the meme promoted by some that Obama is some legendary and undefeatable debater has always been way overblown. He is good to very good, but not great, as we saw tonight.

I really liked the format of this debate a lot, and I thought Jim Lehrer did well to stay out of the way. A debate should be between the candidates, and the moderator should participate as little as possible. Jim Lehrer did that as well as anyone could have in this debate. This debate was an unusually free-flowing and candid back and forth between the candidates. In the past, the common complaint has been the excessive structure and the over-involvement of the moderator. That objection was not an issue in tonight's debate.

The candidates both had time to present their ideas the way that they wanted. The contrasts were clear. Both sides will take exception to the way the other candidate presented certain matters, but the messages the candidates delivered tonight were purposeful and were not mistakes. They both debated well and made the presentations that they each wanted to make.

Whatever complaints people had about the conduct of the candidates in this presidential debate, it was certainly one of the better ones that I have ever seen.

Romney, for the FIRST TIME, put out some specifics. Almost all of them are in direct contradiction to what he's been saying upto this point. The fact checkers will pick it apart in the days to come. Obama was just content sitting back and make Romney come out on record. As Mitt is used to saying, once the specifics are out there, his opponents will "pick it apart piece by piece".

Ha hahahahahah Urkel Hussein just got his *** kicked. Couldn't look Romney in the eye, sign of a liar. Aaaaaannnnnd he turned his pig Latin for dummies into retarded pig Latin aaaaaannnnnd I have nothing more to say.

What a loser aaaaannnnnd I can't explain why I should be re-elected, aaaaannnnd I look like a real tool up here.

Listening to the pundits talk about the debate on the radio this morning was pretty interesting.

Obama talked for 4 minutes more than Romney. No surprise there.

Most people thought Romney won easily. Even the far left , Chris Matthews, Bill Maher, etc., thought that Romney won. Some conservative pundits thought it was one of the best debate performances ever. I don't know if I'd go that far. It was still pretty dulll at times.

I'll bet the Dems work on Obama's body language and demeanor for the next debate. He looked like he was sulking and wanted to be anywhere but there.

Anyone else notice that Obama said, "those of us who have done very well" at least three times when talking about the rich? Came off very arrogant to me.
