Countdown to Football

Recyclying a prior photo that also featured #40 Randall Peschell:

#52 Forrest Wiegand (OL 1967-69) had a terrific view of the game-winning touchdown in the Game of the Century. Here are two photos capturing that moment.

#40 - Phenom RB Butch Hadnot, 1990-1991. Breakout game vs. ou 1990 and then a HUGE game vs. UH 1990. Everyone was saying he was the next Earl. So much potential...

I haven't thought about Hadnot for a long time. My senior year was 1990-91, and he was the MAN! Does anyone know what came of him?

He went back to UT in June of last year to finish his degree. Played a couple of years in NFL (Tampa Bay) He also has a youth sports league the BHY. That's about all I know about him.

NJHorn - good call - same BAD *** player and same play came to mind when I thought about #39:

Damn, it is hard to figure out from the web which players match which uniform numbers from back in the day. When I google Chal Daniel, I get several photos of a guy wearing #66, one with #39 (BevoJoe's post), and one (of a different guy?) wearing #65. Daniels' page on Fanbase shows photos with all three numbers. Was it common for players to switch numbers back then?

Regardless, here's a news clipping about Daniels' death in a military training accident:

Next year when ND returns the visit to Austin, I say we impose the DKR ban on creepy leprechaun mascots! :hookem:
