Just wondering if anyone has seen any pictures posted on the current cotton bowl construction. you can see the new columns being placed in the north end in the picture below. I'm looking forward to the increased seating capacity.

funny. two little stairwells for all those fans to enter/exit.

Yup, looks like they're creating more access. It'd be nice to see them widen out those concourses, too.

Definitely a beautiful pig for 3.5 hours per year.

You can get out a damn bit faster than you can at College Station. I'll take the Cotton Bowl anyday over that aggy tinker toy.

Is there a picture of what the Cotton Bowl is supposed to look like?

No pics to share, but the second deck of the north endzone is now visible from I-30 and is pretty darn tall. I don't know why, but I expected it to be much smaller.

Pictures owlhorn we need pictures!! I would love to see the progression at the cotton bowl. im sure it says somewhere, but when is it supposed to be complete? it would be awesome if dkr and the cotton bowl were done the same year

I'm one who's against this half-assed expansion, but I must say that in person it looked much bigger and better than any rendering I've seen. I could not tell the construction materials. Definitely steel frame, but the risers actually looked to be concrete. I can't confirm that until I take a closer look but from the renderings they are probably aluminum.

The time frame is that they are to be finished by next years State Fair if I understand correctly.

If the number of 92,000+ is true then I am a bit impressed. Surprised at least. That will raise the seating capicity quite a bit. It might be a bit half way done, but maybe they will find ways to at least make it better and better as time goes on. You can count me in on the keep the UT v. ousux game there.

I love this.

From the City of Dallas' official report:

"Undersized concourses cause overcrowding and
gridlock

Rest room fixture counts are significantly below accepted
standards"

No ****?

I got out of my seat at the 2004 RRSO to go to the bathroom. The isle was completley filled with ppl for the entire halftime show. The line started at my seat and never really moved.

At the 2005 RRSO I sat in line to get into the stadium for 30+ minutes.

The stadium is a dump, and the City of Dallas is really dropping the ball.
