When I got it last August this was the most persistent symptom. I wore a sweatshirt for at least a month during the hottest part of summer.

Pooped that because I don't want to have that happen to me! But good that you're recovered.

When I got COVID, I lived on NyQuil at night. It worked pretty well. It's by far my favorite over the counter drug. Last time I got the flu, the doctor prescribed some really hardcore **** with codeine in it to suppress my cough and help me sleep. Tried it one night - didn't work as well as NyQuil did.

I agree. I usually purchase generic drugs when available but name brand Nyquil clearly works better than the generic copies.

Honestly, I have decent luck with the NyQuil generics too. It just surprised me that it shut my cough down and put me to sleep better than a prescription drug with a much stronger medicine.

I used some Zyrtec since I had that saved up from cedar season. It does a great job for allergies, and it's doing a good job now (daytime covid). Didn't work super well overnight for covid. I'll see if I can get someone to drive to CVS for NyQuil.

If you can't get Nyquil (though I used to get it in Austin pretty regularly) and antihistamines seem to help, I might try Benadryl. It causes drowsiness. Zyrtec does not.

I make sure I always have a bottle in the house just in case somebody gets a cold or flu. What stinks is that you can't get anything like that in the UK. Their over-the-counter drugs simply aren't very effective. However, if you go to the trouble of seeing a doctor and getting a prescription, they're going to prescribe something really harsh like the stuff I got with codeine. That's fine, but it simply didn't work as well for me, and it made me feel weird. The narcotic effect was overkill - made me jittery rather than sleepy.

The hysteria is the hoax. It’s a new virus that will eventually be contained and treated. Definitely needs to be taken seriously, but the media has put the country into panic mode. Anyone stocking up on water, toilet paper etc are idiots.

I see it daily. It makes me sad that they wear a mask to make them feel comfortable like a three year old has their favorite blankie. This safe space generation genuinely has me confused by their sensitivities.
