Begin Rant: It is actually fun to see the media drones crying over Aaron Rodgers. Surprised to see Bradshaw, not surprised with some of the others.
I’m now convinced the vaxxed mafia are just very scared people. No reason if you are vaxxed you should care. End Rant.

Saw an interesting comment. For those who say we unvaccinated not protecting ourselves should have no access to an ICU if it was needed must feel that women who have unprotected sex should not have access to abortion.

No reason if you are vaxxed you should care.

I'm fully vaccinated as of this Friday, but one of the things that gave me pause was that the people yelling at me to get vaccinated never acted like this vaccine worked. If someone who was unvaccinated for mumps was around me, I might think they have poor judgment, but I wouldn't freak out. Why not? Because I think my mumps vaccine works.

The vaccine does not prevent you from getting Covid.

The vaccine does NOT prevent you from spreading the virus.

The vaccine will not make Covid go away.

Why is it still called a vaccine?

Because one of the oldest strategies in the leftist playbook is to subvert the very language people use. Up is down, left is right, good is evil.

They simply misuse the definition of "vaccine" so often that uninformed lemmings go along with it.

Umm...it clearly prevents you from having to watch the Ottawa Senators for a week or so...

Yeah, a professional hockey team has ceased operations for a period of time because their FULLY EFFING VACCINATED team has an outbreak. How do we know they were fully vaxxed? Because the NHL required it and even fired coaches who didn't comply...

If everyone is vaccinated, then why stop operations? You can make the argument if some were not vaccinated, but you said that was not the case. Stupid.

Not certain that is true theii’s, in fact pretty sure there have been contact tracings showing a breakthrough case passing on the virus.
Nevertheless I found this interesting. Of course there are those who will say no big deal cause the numbers are small:

I think outcomes like hers are why Astra Zeneca wasn't approved by the FDA.

I "think" that if you're vaccinated you can still get the virus and pass the virus on to others. However, you are less likely to get the virus and, therefore, less likely to have it to pass on. Moreover, if you do get the virus after a vaccination you should have symptoms that are less likely to facilitate of passing along a virus (less fever, coughing, etc.).

You know this but I will beat on the dead horse for fun.

Seasonal Flu Vaccines | CDC.

How effective is the influenza vaccine? CDC Seasonal Flu Vaccine Effectiveness Studies | CDC It was 40% to 50% effective last year.

Covid vaccine effectiveness: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2108891
88% against delta.

In summation: 88% > 40% or 50%.

Agree that it's here to stay. The Epidemiologist said that it's chronic until it becomes seasonal and then it will migrate to endemic.

However, you are less likely to get the virus and, therefore, less likely to have it to pass on.
I ‘think’ the benefit currently agreed to is one can expect fewer and less severe symptoms from the virus, not the two conclusions you mention above. In fact I pose the question; with minimal to no symptoms wouldn’t you be ‘more’ likely to unknowingly pass on the infection?

I think we agree that the less likely you are to contract the virus, the less likely that you are to pass it on. Agreed?

I see the point that if you don't think you have the Rona you may be more likely to pass it on than if you knew that you had it? Possibly. I could buy that argument. I would still put forth that lesser symptoms would lead to less virus shedding.

re: NHL

I love ice hockey, played it for many years as a kid in FtWorth. To me there's no better sport to watch and be engaged in. But the league has been heavy handed on this (and many other) issue/s.

Still not over Don Cherry getting bent over by the CBC and the league for being patriotic. If the NHL had shown support of him he'd still be giving excellent commentary. One of a kind mind for the sport

That was a typo. Corrected

If they called it the Covid shot, most Americans probably would have lined up for it in January. Because most Americans are of average intelligence and average ain’t too damn good.

Ah, so, for optics now, it is being mandated at some places? First I have heard of that.

Lemme rephrase. Why haven't flu shots been mandated lo these many decades? Lots of ICU patients for the flu.

Our mandate and a few hospitals that I know about were pre-Covid. So, barring clairvoyance, there was no virtue signaling or optics. Unless sound public health policies are “optics”.

Gotcha. But no big governmental push and possible nationwide mandate. Y'all giving ICU priority to flu patients who take the flu shot?
No. Just trying to keep people from passing the flu to their elder family.

That scenario was discussed in a world where resources would be stretched very thin. Triage happens. The same thing happens in times like Katrina or that Las Vegas shooting. It’s just triage.

Not “just triage” if you have someone turned away due to unvaxed and room available or same conditions. Triage makes decisions based on degree of criticality all the time but basing it on vaxxed or nonvaxxed is not the same.

Way too much nuance to throw at a guy from Oklahoma.

That was only discussed in this medium as something that might come up if there were limited rooms/options. Like we have one icu ventilator left. Do we give it to the vaccinated person or the unvaccinated person. That’s it.

And I’m saying that’s BS because there are many other medically critical factors an ER, or any physician can, and should, consider BEFORE determining whether (and how) the patient would be treated.
