Corey Nelson switches

Well, according to ESPN Nelson is still only verbaled to agriCULTural. I bet there's some sweaty palms in collieville right now.

Actually, I would prefer Nelson to stick to his word as he'll pose less damage at aggy acres than up in the suckage known a mobileokie. However, I do have to admit that I am enjoying, for once, the tricks OU must be pulling behind the scenes. Why? Because its not with us for once. It would appear that blOwU and aggynuts are the toe-to-toe recruiting competitors now.

Hell, the only schools this year that gave us a challenge for certain recruits were tOSU, UF, & USC. OU never really seemed a viable threat all season.

I'll soak this in for a while. Times are mighty good to be a Longhorn these days.

Yet another reason why I appreciate Mack's apparent practice of staying away from recruits who verbally commit and then start waffling when other schools come a calling. It can be a harsh practice at times, but usually pays off in the long run.

Yeah, word is that he said his verbal to A&M was solid to get everyone to leave him alone, but he planned on committing to OU for a week now. What a joy to have a kid like that in the program. Good job Sooners!

on on hand i'm surprised.

on the flip side, he was committed but still wanted to take visits. anytime a recruit says that, they are a soft commit, and we shouldnt be surprised when they bail.

oh well. life will go on.

bush league. Why shouldnt A&M get a last shot at him as well. Pretty ironic considering, I just watched a segement about how Switzer and OU used to "hide out" recruits sometimes a week before signing day.

This is the kind of crap that makes me nervous about some of our guys who havent signed yet.

Wow... and like that blOwU strikes again with a last minute switch. I wonder what "promises" were made to Corey that lured him into the state that never stops sucking?

Wow...

he's ou bound.

i really have no issue with the kid decommitting--that's part of the game. it's the last minute defections, when had we known he was going to go elsewhere even just a week ago, we could have filled his spot with another good player. thats what pisses me off. why bother committing if you know that that might not be the school you want to attend?

this is just indication about where A&M is in the college football landscape. losing recruits to LSU and ou isnt all that surprising. disappointing, but not surprising. that's what makes the deruyter hire that much more important--we need someone who can do more with less. if we do that, and become competitive again, then these battles will start turning our way.

good solid class overall. thin at DB and LB, but we addressed some key needs on the lines.

as I posted here earlier - his comment indicated that Gooners were offering more than Agricultural. also heard he was begging Texas, but no dice, sir.

Hook'em!!!

Aggy got Periilouxed in this. The stories from Friday about the switch were true. Nelson is a douchebag that looked aggy in the eye and told him he was committed this weekend when either a: knew he was going to ou; or b: knew that he might.

They lost Fobbs to LSU as well. Bad day for aggy.
