Q. How many people does it take to feed a tiger a tuna fish sandwich in a Facebook group?
1 to feed the tiger and to post that the tiger has been fed.
14 to share similar experiences of feeding tigers and how the tiger could have been fed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of feeding tigers.
17 purists who believe tigers should hunt and are offended by feeding tigers discussions.
6 to argue over whether it's 'tuna fish' or 'tunafish'.
Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.
22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jackasses.
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'canned tuna'.
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that 'tuna fish' is perfectly correct.

Gulf (and Gulf bays) oysters are for making fried oysters (a delectable treat).

If you like to eat oysters on the half-shell, stick with oysters from very cold Northern waters (New England, Canadian sea provinces, etc.). If you've never had them before, try one. Then you'll understand.

Are you indicating that the bodies dumped in Anahuac are somehow contaminating the gators?

Sounds like Sheila Jackson Lee needs to form an investigative committee.

Years ago, in Toronto, I had oysters on the half shell from PEI (Prince Edward Island). They were great! Sadly, too many fried oysters here in Texas are like small rocks. There used to be a place in Fort Worth with great fried oysters, but I think they closed.

Any recommendations for fried oysters in North Texas?

Not controversial, (maybe) but I do love oysters and my wife uses them in our Thanksgiving dressing.

If y'all use oysters in your dressing, you might want to check out Boutte's in Lumberton (409-755-0893). They make rice dressing and stuffing. The regular is good, but the "hot" will set you free. My kids send me over to Jefferson County (actually it's a few blocks into Hardin County) to buy five pounds of rice dressing and negotiate for a smaller portion of the "hot".

Legally classify coyotes as non-animals, so cruelty to animal laws will not apply to coyotes.

Shoot them, poison them, trap them, sick your Great Pyrenees dogs on them, put Sicilian donkeys on them in a pasture to break their necks and stomp and kick them to death. Kill them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. Even though they're a native species I don't see any benefit they provide. They carry rabies, and they are not afraid of humans. They'll go into yards and kill chickens, rabbits and small pets.

But we really need to do something about the wild pigs. They have absolutely destroyed native animals in south TX. You can't find a quail anymore where I used to go hunting as a kid. And the same thing applies to the pythons in FL. Native mammals have almost completely been wiped out.

And, or course, fire ants.
 
I thought you were talking ‘tongue in cheek’ about some other coyote types there Chop, but I agree on both.

This is about to het controversial.

Agree, and I feel the same way about great Pyrenees. I have about 10 of those ******* living on my road supposedly guarding sheep herds except the owners don't keep them in with the sheep. They roam the road like a menace killing chickens, attacking other dogs, etc. I thought coyotes were eating my chickens until one day about 8 years ago I wake up to my coop absolutely destroyed with three of them in my back yard so I ran them off. They would come nightly into my front yard and have a standoff with my dogs....in my own yard with one of them having his guts almost ripped out one day.

I finally had enough when before I could rebuild my coop, my chickens would roost on my back porch window ledges, and I woke up to two of them on my freaking back porch. I ended up shooting them both in the rear end (no one died) with my .22 rifle. I have never seen them at my place since, but they roam a full mile in the opposite direction now.

One went home with a snap trap on his leg that a neighbor put out by his chicken coop.

One freaking t-boned my car chasing me on my way to work denting my drivers rear quarter panel. I've had my shorts ripped when one chased me while riding a bicycle and he grabbed my shorts. A neighbor was bitten just walking.

There are three different owners and they all are aware of what their dogs do but they say "they're protecting the area from coyotes".

Animal control was called once, but nothing was done. We all decided we'd just protect our property and selves as we see fit. Quite honestly I'm shocked someone hasn't poisoned them yet.

Needless to say, I hate great pyrenees.

I've got a friend whose ranch was having trouble with losses of calves due to coyotes. They first got Sicilian donkeys, and that helped a little, but not enough. Once they got a pair of Great Pyrenees, the losses due to coyotes came to a dead stop--no more. Those big white dogs came back a few times with blood on their front/face fur. No more losses due to coyotes. Those big white fluffy dogs eat a whole lot of food though, and require some care. They liked people, including me.

If you have an extreme coyote problem, maybe if you turned a pair of tigers loose on your property... :yikes::yikes::yikes:

Speaking of which, eccentric Texans who "collect" tigers may have actually saved that species from extinction.

I am in Seymour and we have a local pack of Beagles that torment all the local homes.. Maybe its a TN thing?

This is great to hear. The very few times I’ve had oysters in dressing, it’s been pretty bad. I’d like to try some where it’s done right.
 
They should do away with those flashing yellow arrow light left turn signals. It’s a great theory and it should work, but it stumps too many people who can’t figure it out and causes accidents.

How much money did Austin spend just to change the shape of all the left-turn protected/unprotected indicators even though there was nothing unclear about how it was before?

We also need to do away with those blinding blue LED headlights. Dangerous as hell.
