All props passed except for raising the judges’ mandatory retirement age.

Prosper, Texas REJECTED a $100 million plus bond $ for a new high school football stadium. A moment of sanity.

We wonder why life for the middle class gets more and more difficult. We wonder why our economy gets slower and slower. Remember this thread next time you wonder.

Yeah really. If only folks weren't so biased against geriatric judges, we might have a perpetually booming economy, zero inflation, colonies on the Moon and Mars, cold fusion, AOR-dominated radio, and World peace.

Good strawman but it doesn't address anything I said.

Honestly, do you really think the Proposition about judges was bias against old judges? It was raising the MANDATORY retirement age. It doesn't force them to work longer. They can retire when they want. But making judges retire before they would have naturally artificially increases the number of judges being paid pension and reduces the amount of judges available to the justice system. Why reduce the supply of court justices? Voting FOR the proposition helped Texans. Voting AGAINST harms Texans.

Prosper, Texas

1. Voters rejected a $94 million bond package for a fancy new high school football stadium.

2. The next day: High school football coach has the Prosper football players running bleachers for 2 hours straight (this part miiiiiiiigggghhhhht be "fake news"... :smile1:).

"Unofficial election results show voters rejecting a proposal for a new $94 million athletic stadium in Prosper ISD.

Just fewer than 45% of voters were in favor of the bond — one of four in the district’s $2.8 billion package — and 55% were against."

"PROSPER (WBAP/KLIF News ) – It was a mixed bag for voters when it came to Prosper Independent School District’s $2.8 billion bond proposal.

Voters gave the green light to Propositions A, B and D which dealt with building new schools and facilities, technology upgrades and a new performing arts center respectively.

However, voters said no to funding a $94 million new football stadium.
After 100% of precincts reported Wednesday morning, the percentage split was 54-46."

The people have spoken:
Education facilities--Yes
$94 Million new football stadium--No

It's called light-hearted internet humor...

:beertoast:

Who in their right mind builds a $93 million stadium that seats only 8,000 people?

Someone who awards the contract to his / her brother

Someone who arranges for 10% or more to be kicked back.

Someone who is promised a non performing, no show job for several years in appreciation of the award
