CONCACAF Gold Cup

That is my biggest fear with the Gold Cup: renegade minnows and their sloppy, but extremely harsh tackling. I have seen too many many good players sustain injuries when they play these games.

USA v. MEXICO.....bring it on

I happened to be flipping through random stations in Argentina and I found the Costa Rica/Mexico game right at the end of the 2nd overtime.

Then went to commercials, came back right as the first Mexican guy was waiting to kick, showed the first Tico kick, and...

...cut away to some show like The View (but in Spanish)! At ONE-THIRTY in the MORNING!! WTF?!?!?!

I'm pissed.

Good game for the 'Nats. People are realizing that the ceiling for Holden is incredibly high. If I was coaching I'd have him playing OMC and Beckerman backing him up....But considering Bradleys style of play "empty bucket" I can understand why he wants Holden getting experience on the wings.

Mexico fans once again showing the embarrassment they are to the sport of soccer.

No kidding. In Mexico, instead of the cops putting a stop to it, they bunch up and hold up their protective shields to block the incoming projectiles. So they give the fans permission to throw stuff.

Tex, before this match is even over I want to go back to our conversation about Rogers and Beckerman. Today is showing all the reasons I don't want them out there.

Looking at Rogers on one side and Holden on the other side...The quality difference is night and day. Holden makes decisions that are incredibly better than the decisions Rogers makes.

Beckerman...too slow in his decision making and in his pace. Having good games against competition like Haiti and Grenada is insignificant when you can't do the same against Mexico. He simply doesnt have the tools to be out there against Mexico leading the attack. Up until today you've seen Quaranta come in to spell Rogers and they push Holden to the other side....But today Bradley had to push Holden into midfield because Beckerman simply can't direct the US attack.

Grat's to the Mexi's for finally beating us. It's about time. Even if it was our C team and they had Euro league players out there. They know how to beat us now. I assume they will now go after some of our AYSO teams to give them a sporting chance to beat us again.

It's a good day for Chimichanga Aggy even though they won't mention they beat our subs.

Chimichanga Aggy...Hahahaha!

You know Landon has probably punched a hole in his wall for each goal Mexico scored today.

Landon and the rest of our Men's Team. You know, the one that will actually play next time v. Mexico. The team that maybe two of these guys will be on....as reserves.

I would say that Landon is also pulling out his hair but, well, you know.

You all do know that Mexico was playing mostly their reserve squad as well right? I expect maybe 3 or 4 to be on the field at the Azteca.

It is ok to lose this game, just not like they did. Under any circumstances. 5-0 is inexcusable at this level, even if it is our scrubs. I know we were up against some of Mexico's better players, but they did not outplay us more than we just played bad. Really bad. It is Bradleys job to have this team prepared. He was not even freakin' close. And getting our A team back for next months qualifiers will not mean **** if he does does not have them ready.

I for one would have been very stoked if we would have beaten the Mexi's today. Given that two of their players play in Euro leagues, top flight level, and that more of their players on the pitch will be going to S.A. if they even qualify. I guess I am being gracious when I say we had MAYBE two that will make that trip.

They should have won this and had we won, wow, implosion for Mexico. It would be an upset had the U.S. won today. I am not shocked we lost but by this score it is sad. But, the Mexi's will tout this as a great victory as if they beat our A team. No, their A- to B team beat out D team. They beat them by a lot! They should have.

Dos Santos is fun to watch.

I won't be shocked if Bradley is not our coach in S.A.

Props to Mexico. I hate those green clad ******** and would like to beat them like a pinata every time we play.

Their B side crushed our D side and I would be lieing if I said it didn't sting. It stings to lose and it doubly stings to lose in the fashion we did. Phantom PK call and the team just falls apart and lays down for the rest of the match.

It was a kick to the nuts and the Mexies deserve congrats, but what I'm hoping for is to deliver an even bigger kick to the green ******** nuts by taking all three points in the WCQ in Azteca.

The Mexies qualification effort is wobbling a little and they can ill afford to have a home game that doesn't yeild the full three right now. Add to that the psychological factor of the US taking a game played in a place that is purported to have one of the greatest home field advantages in sports (smog, altitude, heat, & crowd). That would rank right up there with Dos a Cero in Japorea.

Hook 'em & Go Yanks
