At some point, we might as well just make it legal to lie to Congress and leak classified information, because apparently we're not interested in prosecuting people for it unless they're not in the political class.

Clapper leaked info to CNN early last year regarding the classified briefing given to then President-Elect Trump and Obama on the "Steele Dossier."

The House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation uncovered the evidence that Clapper contacted CNN shortly before CNN published a piece on the classified briefing (dated 1/10/17 by Jake Tapper, Evan Perez, & Jim Sciutto)

There are many that thought it was a safe bet that Hillary would be President and be protected. They went all in making sure that Hillary would be President and they failed. So out of panic they tried to attack, attack, attack the new President and now have been exposed. If they don't have consequences to their actions it will only start being the standard that it's okay to be corrupt because nothing will happen to them personally. McCabe should be fired without a doubt and not get his pension and then needs to face his criminal actions with potential prison time if found guilty. Then go after all that corruption by several that seemed small but grew into a giant tumor with the same fate. We got to quit messing around and show what happens when you decide to make your career about corruption. There's no place for that in our great nation.

This newest batch shows he was close friends with DC Circuit Judge Contreras who is the judge who suddenly recused himself from the Flynn case. Contreras is also on the FISA court. John Roberts is ultimately in charge of the FISC. Hopefully this latest nonsense will get his attention.

In the earlier submission to Congress, FBI/DOJ either did not produce these texts or they entire texts were redacted. They intentionally hid it from oversight.

Neither FBI nor DOJ are established by the Constitution. They are both the creations of the Congress. As such, they are both subject to oversight.

Another thing about this is that Trump is in a bit of a Catch-22. He cannot shut down the Mueller probe and excise the rot in the DOJ and the FBI without appearing to “obstruct justice.”
In practical terms, Mueller is their cover-up, aka "the insurance policy.”

Government service does not come with a guaranteed pension, and that is definitely one of the things that should be forfeited when your job performance was rife with incompetence and corruption. It's the way it is in the real world, and it should be no different just because you work for the government.

I am sorry that I didn’t have any chilled champagne to celebrate. Someone with some knowledge of the FBI said McCabe said that if he goes down he is taking others with him. I can’t wait! :yippee:
 
McCabe issued a statement, blaming Trump, of course (which sort of undermines his position that he has been unbiased, and never political)

But it was the FBI's own disciplinary office -- The OPR - that recommended his firing. These are career agents not Part of the Trump administration.

The reasons given for the firing, as far as Ive seen, are the leaking. About which the facts are not in dispute.

However, the there is more to come. The suggestion is that McCabe may have altered the 302s (notes summarizing witness interviews) in the Flynn investigation. This is one of the things that is supposed to be in the IG's report

McCabe supposedly did this at the direction of Comey (and others inside DOJ)

I agree that we are about to see just how corrupt the swamp is. There are lawyers trying to work deals at this very moment. Lots of panic going on now. They dropped the hammer on one and watch the dominos fall.

This form 302 issue has been around for awhile. See links below.
Holder was supposed to have made improvements in 2014, but they had little effect. They are probably going to be in the spotlight again because of what McCabe and Comey are alleged to have done here with regard to Flynn. It's alittle bit ironic.

The issue goes all the way back to Bobby Kennedy --
“You can have a conversation with an agent… and when it is over he will send a memo to the files. Any relation between the memo and what was said in the conversation may be purely coincidental. You would think you were at different meetings.”​

The problem is that the 302s become the official record of what was said during the interview. FBI agents review their 302s prior to testifying at trial. Prosecutors rely on them with all witnesses at trial. Defendants or witnesses who contest what’s written in a 302 open themselves up to charges of “making false statements or even perjury.”

Some judges wont even allow them to be used --
