Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

Vanderbilt’s Jason Grooms has taken the role of chief of staff for football operations at Texas. This was previously held by Fernando Lovo.

Grooms was involved in many facets of the Vanderbilt football program, including day-to-day operations, budget control, team travel, player development, office organization including staff and personnel coordination, and the Gridiron Club, per Vanderbilt’s website.

Grooms has been an active member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2001. He served as president of the AFCA’s Director of Football Operations group in 2017, in a year where the group’s yearly agenda was diversity and inclusion in college football. He has been a trustee for the organization as of 2018.

In 2013, Grooms was named FootballScoop.com’s 2013 Director of Football Operations of the Year for his contributions at Ohio.

Ok I will be the one to ask what does a Chief of Staff of Football Operations do?

What happened to the days when the AD had one lady to answer the phone, the coaches shared a "secretary", all the rest of the department (including Earl) were across the hall and did their own Xeroxing?

How many people are on the payroll?

Several years back I came across a photo of a very early Dallas Cowboys team. There was Landry and I believe two assistants.
Those were also the days when the Packer sweep was one of the most run plays, the QB called all the plays, and if he completed 50% of his passes , he was a super star.

If I'm not mistaken, in those days you had the Head Coach, Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator and that was it.

Remember when I said over the summer that CDC needs to rent a bus, drive all the malcontents to the middle of nowhere, drop them off, and then drive away? Well, he basically doing it.

Burton on Drew Hughes

Drew Hughes, the expected football director of player personnel for Texas, is awaiting NCAA compliance for his hiring.

The compliance process is not unique to Hughes. All coaches and staff that have served under Jeremy Pruitt at the University of Tennessee are similarly situated because Pruitt was fired for cause and the university and the NCAA are currently investigating the program for recruiting violations. Hughes, according to a source, has not been implicated in any wrongdoing.

Hughes was director of player personnel for Pruitt for a couple of years before taking over at South Carolina last year. Hughes, since graduating from Alabama in 2011, has also served as player personnel director at Florida, Central Florida and North Carolina State.

I dont know how you can convincingly make the case to a high school recruit to join a program which has a school song you think is racist.
How exactly does that work?
The wheels on the bus go round and round...
The malcontents on the bus get dropped off...

CDC is driving the bus.

Errbody

You tell them it’s not racist. Because its not. You have Earl, Ricky and Vince say the same thing. You tell them we are here to play football, win championships, and not deal with that social bs.

You missed the part where the recruiter coordinator agrees its racist

Something tells me that Anwar Sadat's days on the 40 are numbered--absent a personal "revelation" that The Eyes of Texas is actually a pretty good song for our team and fans to sing.

We need the Band Director on board too. Somebody needs to stick a mic in his face on that. No more music schollies for haters.
