Clemson game and preview

Our right side of the OL has been a glaring weakness all year. Cam Williams has I think 15 false starts this year and several holding calls as well. Sark will need to adjust either for additional help or quicker plays. I really wish Blue didnt have fumble issues as he is a dynamic game changer with his speed.
I've seen Cam Williams projected as a first round NFL pick in 2025. On the plays he is not penalized, scouts must see him as dominating.

Granted, but just remember: a circus generates a WHOLE lot of elephant poop, so careful where you step.
I'm 67. I've been to many, many "circuses".... voluntarily and involuntarily.... "business" related and not "business" related. I'm retired, thankfully, but I'm well acquainted with poop caked shoes.

Regarding "surly", there are a few - less than 5? - bright people there but the vast majority seem to range from overweight, washed up, alcoholic ex-high school heroes to conformist Austin hipsters trying too hard to be Matthew McConoughey.

I think we hit them up the gut in the running game, and stay away from Parker--or find ways to option Parker.
Yes. ^^^ And another way to attack Parker is to quick run straight at him. Block him straight ahead and let Blue or Wisner cut to the open space which will be one side of him or the other. Cam is big enough to occupy Parker long enough for a quick hitter to get past him.

Also Quick slant passes are effective to slow LB blitzes and frustrate Parker.

Not only did I throw one foam brick at the tv, I tossed two when they showed Craig James on site at the SMU game.
et,

Have some pity. Even I have one or two friends; James not so much. That arrogant moron called me and said, "I know you don't like me and am mad because I went to SMU, but Bill asked me to call you to see if you can get my mother a job.

I could give a **** less about him going to SMU other than in Austin his teammates would have beat the **** out of him. As for his mother, I actually felt sorry for her.

Anybody that wants to be his friend, he's still looking for his first one.

I hope one day the truth comes out about his kid.

Nothing wrong with a serious dislike...nope...nothing at all.
My "serious dislike" changed to hatred when they became the first school to buy a house for a player's mother. Kid hated SMU and cried, but said if he didn't sign with them that his mother would lose her new job and their new home.

Some really old Longhorn fans were not big fans of Joe Don Looney.
Why? He started as a Longhorn. He "rescued" a crippled guy and his date at the Kappa Sig Toddle House when he threw two drunk Delts through the two plate glass windows for harassing them.

Guy was a great RB, as well as an outstanding punter. He was really weird. Johnnie Owen at Clyde Campbell's had the best JDL stories.

I have seen cam pushed backward many times this season. I am not impressed. I just dont see him as a first round pick
Pom,

Being pushed backwards implies he actually made contact with the DL as opposed to an "Ole' block".

If, indeed, some NFL scouts/coaches think he's worthy of being drafted in the first three rounds tells me that he is being under-coached or our opponents this year are better than NFL teams.

Looney was All State RB at Fort Worth Paschal. Head Coach was Bill Allen, whom I knew well, and wanted to play football for. Unfortunately, Coach Allen retired before my Soph year. He was a great man, died in 1998.

Anyway, Looney was a troubled and odd soul. Recruited to UT for football (and track IIRC). As Sabre stated, he was a great talent.

Got dismissed by DKR (@SabreHorn prolly knows the details why) and wound up at TCU then ou 1962 - 63.

Looney was the starting RB for #1 ou vs #2 UT in 1963. He was troubled & controversial even at ou.

Horns shut him down and won 28-7 in 1963. Sabre's first UT game IIRC. Looney was kicked off the team by HC Bud Wilkinson after that game. Looney sometime later got drafted into the NFL and bounced around with several teams.

Looney died as a fairly young man. Motorcycle accident IIRC.

Looney died as a very young man. Motorcycle accident maybe???
Interesting. Thanks.

In the mid 80’s my brother lived in Alpine and was his friend shortly before he crashed in Terlingua. Looney lived in a teepee in Terlingua or the Double Diamond subdivision south of Alpine. He was religious ( Hindu ) and sober according to my brother.

One day they were hanging around inside the tepee and Looney pulled out one of those wax paper cones that are placed inside your ear and lit on the other end to extract ear wax. So my brother did it too. I always have that image in my head. Two former football players with lit cones sticking out of their ears..sitting inside a teepee.

Motorcycle Riding is surprisingly dangerous out here in far West Texas. There’s no traffic but one is lulled into a false sense of security…go too fast on long stretches then miss a curve.

The mule deer, javalina, elk, jackrabbit and rocks on the road are very dangerous..particularly at night.

I had a buddy at work die out there in Big Ben on his bike. It was at dusk and a deer jumped out in front of him and put his bike on the ground and slide into the rail IIRC.

Switzer..if coaches included
Any OU linked list of douchbags should include Oklahoma lovin' Vanderbilt graduated Skip Bayless. Switzer is a genunely nice, approachable human being. You can hate him for what he's done for OU and to UT. But you can meet Switzer and listen to him talk and not immediately think "douchebag." Dr. Bay's douchbaggery is obvious within 10 seconds after he opens his mouth ...and can also be conveyed wordlessly.
