CFP Semifinal Prediction Thread: Texas vs. Washington...Revenge is a dish best served COLD!

I expect offensive production but will take our defense over theirs 7x a week and twice on Monday. We have to neutralize their solid run game (which I expect to) and make Penix uncomfortable and push pocket into his lap with the front 4 and Hill or an end to get home a few times. Think game comes down to Texas forcing more FGs than TDs and a special teams swing. Those WRs are no joke. Watts being healthy is good… D Williams will be missed first half
 
I’ll go 42-24 the good guys.

You never know, but there are some intangibles I like in this game. All the hype, Penix, his receivers, and “the best offensive line in the country” should play in our favor. (Think Sweat and Murphy are motivated?)

Their Coach of the Year — and the Sark snub — is another motivational gift. Additionally, I like the symmetry of winning another game on our Revenge Tour. Next, did the Texas Women’s Volleyball Team provide a road map of things to come? Then there’s the equivalent of a home field advantage. Finally, few are talking about Ewers which, by omission, infers that he is chopped liver. That omission will serve as motivation for the offense.

Of course, I’ll be thrilled with a one point victory, although my heart might not be.
 
We have the better defense and special teams. The secondary plays more man..Michael Taaffe and Manny Muhammad have big games. We pinch the edges with corner, safety and Hill blitzing.

Big 10 officials keep it closer than it should be. We will be penalized more and Washington will not be peanalized when they should be…as usual.

Blue and Baxter shine. Washington scores at the end to make it respectable and match the point spread.

Well today is the day. I gotta admit, there's a small part of me that misses our 8-5 days, when I didn't really care that much if we won or lost. There was no anxiety. Now that we have everything to lose (everything to gain, too), I'm nervous as hell. Hook 'em, baby!!
 
I hope I am wrong but I cant see our DBs staying with their receivers.

Texas has to be tired of hearing about Washington's awe inspiring receivers and best offensive line on the planet.

I like our guys to come out with a little extra juice.
 
Surprised that we only have 48 predictions especially since we averaged 62 picks a week.

Anyway, I think the key to this game will be our ability to put pressure on Penix. If we do not do this on a consistent basis, then it will be a very close game or loss. However, I do think we get some pressure on him and limit his ability to pick apart our secondary.

I am not worried about our offense getting points on the board.

I think our DBs have taken the criticism to heart. They've manned up the last two games. Granted the tech and osu QBs ain't Penix. But I think they rise to the occasion. My concern is our DL. They were supposed to negate the OU passing game, but did nothing. If that's the performance we get out of them tonight, we better score 50.
 
Not sure the outcome of the game but it looks like the French quarter is already claiming victory over Texas fans.
