Yes... plateued... Hopefully we can at least maintain the Sweet 16 status.Plateaued? You can’t be serious.
When Tina was hired, she was listed as "Assistant Coach". This last year, her title changed to "Assistant Head Coach". When I pointed it out, people just poo-pooed it and said, "Eeh, that's just a change in nomenclature"I'm guessing that Tina's departure did not take Karen by surprise and that Karen has been vetting candidates over the past few weeks. I'm not sure what the timeframe is for the length of time that a job position is required to be posted but I won't be surprised if an announcement is made as soon as possible after that period has lapsed. The earliest start date listed in the posting is April 18th (which is today).
Here was the job posting for the Associate Head Coach position when Tina was promoted. It seems the qualifications were almost tailored for Tina.

I'm not sure what her specific role is as an Assistant Coach for the SA Spurs but I always wondered why Becky Hammon never got into the collegiate coaching ranks. Seems like she has the background and experience for it.
Seems like her goals are elsewhere.

Very nice work DFW. That previous job description is very interesting. Makes me wonder if the current job description is meant for a specific person.

Does this mean that when an assistant coach is promoted to associate head coach that the position has to be posted? Or did Tina start out as UT associate head coach?
Seems like her goals are elsewhere.

Not going to ‘bash’ - just point out that the NCAA has a limit on the number of assistant coaches - 3. Some teams will have a ‘director of basketball operations’ (Texas MBB this last season) who is basically a coach except they can’t recruit off campus but the writer’s claim that there can be as many as 7 or 8 is not factual.God forbid I share with ya'll the mysteries surrounding the Associate Head Coach phenomenon so, here's an article that does a very good job. I suppose you're going to bash this blogger too? Ha! http://ezinearticles.com/?Role-Definition-For-College-Basketballs-Associate-Head-Coach&id=1436175
Looks like you need to choose better writers that I can bash.God forbid I share with ya'll the mysteries surrounding the Associate Head Coach phenomenon so, here's an article that does a very good job.
