I asked a lefty acquaintance who was talking about how inhumane We are being to separate children from their parents if we should not send convicted felons to prison. At first said, "well they broke the law" then kinda shut up. Had to :lol:

We got this off track because growth in people (workers and consumers) is relatively beneficial for the entities that own most of our assets and production. In other words, it was good for the top 2%. Immigrants have always been a cheaper source of labor. Never mind what it does for wages of the other 80%. Now immigrants are not only useful for the 2%'ers but it also useful to pol's that think they can channel them to their party and secure the latino vote for generations the way they have cornered the black vote.

Upon further reflection, it is likely forcing you (or anybody) to watch Rachel Madcow every day would be deemed cruel and unusual punishment. I withdraw my post. :D

Yeah, that's a bunch of bullcrap. They're threatening to turn away aircraft with their own citizens. That's a threat to our borders and to our sovereignty. Trump needs to tell these countries that anyone who pulls this will face tariffs, then an embargo, then a military blockade, and then full scale war. It can't be tolerated even a little from anybody. Don't even threaten or joke about it.

Trump is going soft. He should have cut off any foreign aid from the US, imposed a 200% tariff, diverted the planes to Gitmo, and dumped the illegals there.

The latino vote is not as easily swayed with rhetoric about racism as black voters. But there are many within that demographic that are. The latino population is voting more blue than red, but not at 70+% levels. If we don't find a way to permanently clamp down on illegal immigration, the GOP will eventually lose by demography. Latinos are 15%'ish of population now. If they continue to grow through illegal immigration and vote around 70% Dem, then the GOP will lose within 2 election cycles in most purple constituencies. I would suggest that the vast majority of illegal immigrants would vote dem if given the chance. (and their 1st gen citizen offspring will also) DJT is trying to curb all of this, but he's only going to be around 4 years. The country is likely to swing back blue next election and almost certainly will within 2 cycles. If DJT does not find a way to implement legislation that makes his efforts permanent, we will be right back here within 10 years.
