Bru McCoy back to USC?

I'm totally with that but you shouldn't be able to come here, learn our play book, then before season ask out...sigh. That window should be closed till at least season end. NCAA should have protection in place.

It's very common for players to transfer after Spring practice.

Human beings are terrible at reading the minds of others.
I realize this is a forum to share ideas, but IF this has legs- we really don’t know why.
I hope Bru stays for selfish reasons, but if he wants to go for any reason that is not my business, I wish him well.

If true, this will make Aggy incredibly happy....I'm with most on this board that say you don't want someone on the team that's not happy here.....and really, that's the end game, the player needs to be happy wherever he's going.....
Aggy lost 2 five star qb’s in the same week they can’t talk

NR, for me there will be no sugar coating if indeed the story has legs. If you’re 18, have any brains and any guidance in your life, you don’t play these games. And 18 is not 6, as in 6 years old.

Bru gets no pass from me. No excuses. To transfer from USC and then want to transfer back a few months later. Really?

This would be bush league and a very poor reflection on the kid’s character. Yes, I said that.

No sour grapes, but an assessment that needs to be made.

last 24 hrs?
Disbelief/ rumor
Must be a girl
Going home
Can’t count on out of state kids
Good riddance
We already have a player just as good

As far as having a player just as good we just might. Eagles and Epps were both high 4 stars as I recall. How much difference can there be between that and a 5?

To be clear on something I accidentally clicked on dislike instead of agree on dukesteer's post and since changed it. When you're as good as McCoy supposedly is you start getting recruited no later than 8th grade. That's a long time to examine your options and make the best decision for yourself. The McCoy saga is tacky.

Didn't Mack Brown have something like a 200 mile rule? That when you get more than 200 miles from home, it gets tougher for the kids to hang/adapt? Of course, Alabama and USC (when they were rolling) don't seem to suffer from it, but Texas hasn't had a lot of success with that. Who were Mack's best 200+ miles players? Trying to think, but Ricky and Major belonged to the prior administration....

Oh no, Duke I feel the same.
Regardless of the issue, this would be embarrassing to me if I kept jumping fence at this unprecedented level.
And regardless of the reasoning, if he is wavering- go young man. Please go.

To add to your point:

He made a COMMITMENT to USC, first.

Commitment means something to me. We've all pledged or committed to something in our lives - some we may have had second thoughts about, questions or some level of regret(s) but we stuck with it because we made a commitment.

However, I think it was generally recognized that USC deceived or was underhanded in gaining his commitment. Most people (not all) acknowledged he had grounds to un-commit. He did while picking his runner-up choice UT and COMMITTED once again, seemingly in good faith.

Regardless of the reason(s), wanting to un-commit, a second time, from UT and go back to the program he first picked and then spurned seems very imature, flakey or at least it's very poor decision-making.

Just my .02

He is a really confused kid. I am a man now (I'm 40!!) and have learned the hard way that "wherever you go, there you are."
I didn't have that perspective when i was 18, and I certainly didn't have as many options as he does.
I am sure his head is a turmoil right now.
I hope whatever he decides, it works our for him.

I believe we'll be just fine either way.

I now wonder if his transfer to UT wasn't a knee jerk reaction to KK leaving USC to coach the Cardinals. Maybe he was pissed and that was his reaction. Now that time has passed, maybe he realizes that he really does want to be at USC and made a rash decision. I'd like him to stay, but if he's not happy, then I say move on to the kids that love UT and want to be there.

Yup

Might need Fenves to help close this deal :whiteflag:
After seeing these latest reports, I was reminded of the Clippers/Mavericks DeAndre Jordan saga a few years back. Anybody remember this?
When the guys arrive next step is to lock the doors and turn off the phones.
Yeah...hope UT are the Clippers here (I THINK)...
...Once Jordan finally made his way to Dallas anyway, it wasn't the slam dunk the Mavs had imagined...and, for his sake, his career isnt what it was either.
Not sure who has more to potentially learn from this...UT or Bru.

Don't get me wrong. Bru is an outstanding athlete and big time playmaker, and I hope he stays at UT. He just needs to get his head screwed on straight, and quick. You're 18 son, the time to grow up is now.

Shepard looked like a head case during some of the recruiting process, and he apparently turned out ok.

I was lonely my first year at UT, which was my first time away from home for any long duration. I get it. I wasn't about to let on to my parents that I wasn't happy. They were spending money they could have used for other things to send me to college.

Bru's parents need to give him a swift kick in the a@@ and tell him that he made a decision and a commitment and he needs to man up and go with it.
