Boyer' open letter to Kaepernick

Even I am not too old to remember those days. I remember taking months to go through the " find out who she likes?" queries before asking the prettiest girls, and yep it went into college just not as pronounced.

Yep. Nobody likes getting shot down, especially when you're young. Nevertheless, I'm sure Holland's niece is every bit the catch that she says. However, she identified her as Christian. Well, if she's serious about her faith, that sends a pretty clear message to guys, and we know what that message is. She's not going to put out for a guy just because he went to the trouble and expense of buying her a burger and a movie ticket. That's going to repel dudes who are only looking for sex, which is a lot of college guys. It's sad, but it's true. It also doesn't help that sexual virtue (from men and women) is ridiculed in college culture.

I agree with Deez on Holland's niece. Her life is sending a clear message and it is saving herself a large amount of heartache. There is a person out there for her and it will take some patience for her to meet him. But the worst thing she could do is waste time with a string of losers. Bad company corrupts good morals.

What's sad is that the strings of losers are stupid. Finding sex is easy. Finding a decent wife is hard. If you act like a jackass on the prowl for sex, you'll be less attractive to potential wives.

Furthermore, we assume that a guy can't control himself sexually, which is why we tolerate the prowling jackass in college. It isn't true. They definitely can. They just choose not to, and it doesn't help that they're seldom encouraged to. But when they do, I've noticed that it's a turn on to many women, because it sends them two messages. First, it shows the woman respect - not the shallow respect of politically correct feminism but real, fundamental respect. It says, "I'm willing to delay my gratification despite the discomfort to get to know you better and to avoid cheapening the sexual relationship we may one day have." Second, it tells her that if and when it does happen, the guy is going to have the self-control to take the time to do his job and not just get his own pleasure with little regard for hers like the typical prowling jackass.

As ESPN's wokeness increases, its rating continue to fall.

The ratings printed from last week show their studio programming just hit a 41 year ratings low. That is, in the entire history of the network existing, it has never had lower overall studio ratings than it did last week.

If you are unaware, which you probably are since no one is watching it, they have become at least as left wing than MSNBC and CNN, possibly moreso. With little to no sports to cover, they have been forced to fill space with ideas from what is inside their own heads. The results are not pretty. While many viewers had stuck with them during all the coronavirus talk, that has now changed. Now everyone has abandoned them.

The highest rated ESPN program of the day is called “First Take.” Yet it only got 211,000 viewers. Which made it the 93rd highest rated program on cable. At the same time, something called “Nick Cannon Wild and Out 15” on VH1 had 50% more viewers than First Take (ESPN's best). Natl Geo's show “Smuggler: Secret Stash” had twice as many viewers. “Craig of the Creek” (Cartoon Network) had 200,000 more viewers. They even got beat by “Jay Leno’s Garage” (CNBC) and a show I never heard of on a network I never heard of “Ant Anstead Master Mechanic” (on Motor Trend).

Dude, since there are no sports....duh! I used to watch SVP. I don't now because...there. are. no. sports.

I don't listen to some sports podcasts as well.

The only thing worth watching over the last year was the documentaries about Michael Jordan and Lance Armstrong, if it isn't live sports.

Their commentary is worthless.

Wish I had this advice long ago. I'm 61 and just got married to a woman I've known for 40 years. She remembered me well. We got reacquainted in Feb 2019 at a mutual friends funeral. I'd not seen her in fifteen years. She was married at the time but her husband passed away from cancer five years ago. She hadn't dated anyone and had been prodded by some friends to reach out to me. But she remembered my "eye of the tiger" look. She said she was not ready for me long ago. That I was clearly in it for the sex and kind of brushed me off a couple of times. We've had some good laughs about it.

I told her that eye was her good looks and that I was a p*ssy cat back then. But I did have a reputation and so did she ("good girl") so she went a different direction. Much time has passed and she is that "decent wife that is so hard to find." In fact, she is much more than that. She is an adult who can handle life's problems. And she still looks good.

You mean you are not a fan of ping pong, Korean baseball and soccer/racing/golf with no fans present?

Yeah, me neither...

@bystander , congrats! Sounds like you find a great catch, and so did she. Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness.

As for having that advice earlier, I think we sometimes screw up for our good. Had I not been an idiot in my 20s, I never would have met Mrs. Deez or had Deez, Jr. as a son.

Thank you my friend. It's been a whirlwind. A real romance. We both feel lucky.

I hear you on the path we took and where we ended up. We've talked about that as we both have two children. The what if scenario; we'd have different kids. Or maybe she was right to wait me out. I have this theory about our kids still being with us; the essence at least. But she has two and I have two; we probably would have only had two children together so we're thrilled we have four children between us.

That’s an awesome story Bystander. You mentioned your divorce years ago and it’s great that you’ve found someone and she makes you happy. I’m happy for you. I’m 20.5 years in to my marriage. It’s hard work especially as our kids get older. I think we’re through the hardest part now. It’s great to see my friends who had to find someone new later in life get to find that Love again.

Some followup on ESPN
Ratings for on the ESPYS, which aired on Sunday night on ESPN and which was exponentially woke, were off 81%. Their smallest ever audience

... she remembered my "eye of the tiger" look...

On my own nickle, I reached out to her to check the veracity of this claim. Here is what she claims she saw in there --

Rising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

ESPN was in trouble before Covid due to it's political BS. When college football either gets cancelled or fans stay away like they do for the NFL, ESPN will be thankfully over. Hopefully, a real sports station is developed and thrives.

Not all exactly on point but she got the message... :) Apparently she takes a shine to tigers now!

It's true, its ratings have been in a decline for awhile. However, the rate of decline picked up once they went full on kill whitey every day this last month or so.

I dont know if anyone knows who Mike Florio is, but he is a professional football media guy who has made alot of money in this line of work. He started out as a site called NFLtalk.com and made money when it was bought out by ESPN. Then he started Profootballtalk.com and made another pile of cash when he sold it out to NBC Sports. One site estimates these transactions have made his net worth around a half Billion.

He is also one of those hypocritical super woke white folks who likes to attack other white folk he does not think are as woke as he. You know the type

Here are some examples --
-- just this week, he made some snark about Trump not celebrating or tweeting out about Juneteenth Day. So someone looked into his 19 year presence on social media and discovered Florio himself has NEVER personally made any mention of Juneteenth himself
Talk about conforming to stereotype

-- then it was revealed Florio had called Mike Tirico “retarded” and Michael Strahan "gay." Doesnt seem very woke ProFootballTalk.com -- The Best Pro Football Scoop on the Internet

-- then it was revealed that, despite all his woketalk, in 20 years of working as a writer/editor covering a majority black sport, he has NEVER hired a black writer

Dude is not having a great week

I love it. Jason Whitlock pulls no punches and he's very balanced.

I used to watch SportsCenter every morning when I was getting ready for work. Yes, I have a TV in my bathroom. I did this for 20+ years. When they hopped on the Kaepernick bandwagon and started lecturing me a couple of years ago, I quit ESPN and the NFL. Haven't missed it at all. I switched to old Dick Van Dyke Show reruns and never looked back.

More ESPN ratings news - in case you thought the 81% decline for the ESPYs was a one-off thing

They turned over SportsCenter last week to "Woke Center" and accordingly hit the lowest rating for ESPN in the prime time slot in the history of ESPN ratings (which is at least 25 years, which is as far back as publicly available ESPN ratings go)

The movement to kill pro football continues
By the owners of pro football

Did you even know we have 2 national anthems?
