Must have been systematically oppressed.
Remember that initial charges CAN be upgraded. If there is enough material to show beyond a reasonable doubt that she took aim at the officer, then you might seen an upgrade to murder. In the link it says the max is 15 years. That would be a travesty but since she is black
It is likely
What prosecutors would/should be looking at is dashcam video of the other units already on scene or the body cam footage that shows the lack of evasive efforts.mb
Thanks for the explanation
I am guessing even with that vid it would be hard to prove she did it deliberately?
Looks like premeditated murder is obvious. What prosecutors would/should be looking at is dashcam video of the other units already on scene or the body cam footage that shows the lack of evasive efforts.
Proving up the elements of intoxication is easy enough to do, but proving it was an intentional act causing death (and thus elevating to murder) creates a different burden at trial.
Oh, in that case, they will name a day after her, give her the key to the city. Along with a big fat cash settlement. Then her choice of the next statue that will be taken down. That would be the correct PC thing to do.In the link it says the max is 15 years. That would be a travesty but since she is black

Put that ranch hand bumper to use and push the blocking vehicles out of the way...truck ought to have enough oomph to do that without even getting into a granny gear. That's why I can't get that behind the police. I don't want defunding or anything like that, but the whole back the blue movement willfully ignores stuff like this.
Those protesters blocking traffic should have all been cuffed and jailed. If they are too afraid of getting in trouble for doing their jobs then that just proves we need system change to provide better security.
I didn't remember being at the top of the teen suicide list, but I recall it being a place where teens were shocking parents when it came out that Plano was a heroin hot spot.I remember growing up in Fort Worth and being aware that Plano was the teen suicide capitol of the USA, or right there at the top, anyway.

Yeah, suicide was "cool" when we moved to Plano in the mid '80s. By the time I was in high school (PSHS grad - 1994), heroin was "cool." I guess that's progress in a weird way.
Maybe because you're having fun while killing yourself?
