best place for cocktails in Austin?

Any place that The Brew is playing at is cool too. Cedar Street (try the Satchmo) comes to mind. I think they got booted from playing there because they were playing Speakeasy's too. Anyway....good times when The Brew is involved.

One of my best buddies is opening a new bar and grill right across from the RIATA apartment complex on Riata Trace. It should be open on February 15, barring any further delays because of city permits and ******** like that. I will let y'all know when the grand opening will be for sure!
 
An update on Mesa Hills Cafe:

In addition to the regular service industry night on Tuesdays, they are also doing specials for service industry every night from 12-2, and I have definitely noticed a spike in the number of people there and the quality of talent. It's worth checking out if you're out for a late drink.

Oh, and the Chairsniffer got banned from the Boulevard. He finally grabbed one-too-many girls by the boob, and was told never to come back. Watch out if you see an old, frazzled man hanging around El Arroyo now!
 
The bar at P.F Changs is always filled with some amazing jail bait. The bar at the Stephen F. Austin is pretty solid -strong drinks and usually some pretty nice trim. If you want to impress a girl though, you should take to the bar at TGI Friday's. Gauranteed *****.
 
P/C, looks like it's going to be delayed a little bit more, with problems from the city codes getting worked out. I will definitely keep everyone posted, and we will have to have a Hornfans night up there and watch some hoops and shoot some stick. I've had samples of the menu already and it is GOOD!

It ******* pisses me off when people call him "the professor," because I hate that he lets it be known that he has had any ties whatsoever to The University. Is he super old, yes, but so is Noble Doss and he conducts himself like a perfect gentleman whenever I see him around that neighborhood. Age is no excuse for being a pervert, and apparently he's been pulling his stunts for a long, long time around Far West.
 
After a jillion problems with city inspections, etc., they are working on the finish-out now and it's looking like a mid-April opening. I'll be sure and keep you posted.
 
OK, just ran into my buddy, and the RIATA Bar and Grill will be opening on May 1. They are doing a soft opening before then for friends and family, but he gave me permission to invite a few of y'all who have been asking about the open date. P/C and a few others of y'all, I will put you on the guest list if you PM me in time.
