Belichick.....what a complete ***......

The man is obviously piad to win games. The putz pulled out no weaponry, sprayed no acid in Giants' eyes, and raped no children along the way. He failed at the only thing he's paid to do.

Or he's paid to win given a certain context (presumably by the rules, without shooting or raping anyone along the way). I don't know a time a coach left before the game was over when they weren't ejected.

Bottom line, Belichick doesn't care what anyone thinks about him. That being said, my two cents...yep, he's an *** clown.

No, it's ******** to leave with your team on the field. Doesn't matter to me all that much, though.

Kind of funny to contrast it to the opposing coaches that stood there all game and waited until the game was over to shake Belichick's hand when he was running up the score this year. Guy's a ***** that can't take what he's so willing to dish out.

Some of you need to get a life.
He congratulated the other coach, then left the field, which was clogged with fans, media, security, hundreds of celebrants. There was no reason to run a play with one second, and no reason to criticize anyone for leaving at that point.
He might be an *** for other reasons, but this is not anything to criticize a coach for.

Yahoo! Sports agrees:

If he's going to lose...

Reads like a compilation of all the statements made so far in this thread.

Quotes:

On more than one occasion this year, Bill Belichick and the Patriots have run up the score on an overmatched opponent, and forced an opposing coach to sit there and watch his beaten team go through the motions while their heineys were being handed to them.

---------

That's unsportsmanlike at best, disrespectful at least, and at worst, it makes him a big sissy.

--------

if you're an adult, you finish out the game, and you give your opponents the stage and the respect they deserve.

...And so on.

He def. made the ending more awkward than it should have been and took away some of the spotlight that the giants deserved. I guess he couldn't let them kneel the ball and get all the camera love. Kind of a panzy move imo.

He had that guy behind him that had the red flag or whatever yelling at him to stop. Then he had the ref telling him the game wasn't over. Then as he was making the long walk to the locker room, he had to have noticed what was going on on the field. If he had been there telling people what to do, and had not jumped the gun running out then maybe it wouldn't have been such a hectic situation. He damn well knew the game wasn't over and that his team would have to play another play. When Randy Moss left the field in a similar situation years ago, everyone torched him for abandoning his teammates. Bottom line is that it was a punk *** move on Belicheck's part and shows his lack of respect for the game and the other team. **** that guy.

I really don't see how anybody gives this guy a pass in this situation. I don't think that I have ever seen a coach leave before a game was actually over.

Now here is the real question. Should the league or Pats front office empty his pockets a little?

The league, in my opinion, should because they have it on film that he ignored the guy in the suit with the red flag and a head referee.

The Pats, IMO, should because he just made the organization look bad.

It seemed to me that Belichick was the first one on the field, and that started the whole situation.

He knew the game was effectively over, and he wanted to get out of the spotlight as quickly as possible. Nobody expects them to just run a second or two off the clock in football. We should expect no less froma a Grade A douche who wears a cutoff sweatshirt on the sideline.

getting on BB for this minor incident AFTER he had congratulated Coughlin and there were 2300 people on the field and half his team was already gone and the clock was showing zero (later reset).. is really goofy.

...and Tom Brady shouldn't get a free pass for leaving, either.

It was a petulant display by a team that hasn't particularly won with class. Now, they've proven they don't lose with class, either. Here's hoping the NFL dismantles the "dynasty."

He knowingly left the field before the clock ran out. At least three people told him the game wasn't over before he hit the tunnel, including a ref, and he ignored them all. When he crossed the field, everyone assumed the game was over and took the field with him. The mob then had to be cleared before the game could finish.

To sum up, he threw a tantrum on national television and disrupted a game in progress. There is no way to defend that. He is a good coach of a good team... and he is a cry baby, end of story.

1) Bill - "Dost thou not suspect my place? Dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ***. But masters, remember that I am an ***: though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ***. And Master, sir, do not forget to specify, when time and place shall assert, that I am an ***."
2) He knew, is used to doing what he wnats when he wants, and tried to force the game, rather than eat a little crow and go back to the sideline with his team.
3) It is a small issue relative to the game and the greatness by which both teams played.
4) Still, he was told twice by officials. He is an ***.

Completely classless!!! Be a man and take your loss. Dont be such a dick about it. I hate Belicheat and the Patriots!!! Way to go Giants! Congratulations Aaron Ross!!!!

doesn't bother me, but I saw this sort of issue coming a mile away when he was running to the 50 with a second left.

The Augie comparsion breaks down fairly easily, but one thing in common -- confusion.

Nolan Richardson left the court during a game against Texas in the early 90's, then came back for the overtime. To this day, I can't stand him.

It was completely inexcusable. Players catch hell for doing the exact same thing. He's the coach, for christ's sake.

So all of you in the 'non issue' camp, if Mack walks off the field in the Cotton Bowl with a second left, you wouldn't be here bitching?

class card... how neat.

he's a piece of crap, but c'mon people. he shook coughlin's hand, everyone was on the field... is it really necessary that he run back out for a kneel and then run back in?

some people.
