Beard Fired

There is a clause in his contract stating he can be fired for cause without pay. One of those causes is being arrested for a felony.
And that just happened.
Blame the lawyer - it should have been 2nd degree or higher! Beard is charged with 3rd degree felony.

Good points.

Also, in that last 2-3 minutes, reduce the shot clock to 15 seconds so the team with the lead doesn't just milk it. That's boring as well.
Basketball was actually better (in terms of not having the last 3 minutes determine the outcome) without a shot clock. Teams rarely could come back without the shot clock. So, it was a 40 minute game.

Thus the flagrant and intentional fouling and boring *** free throws.

It may happen in the last 2 minutes, but it rarely worked when there was no shot clock. I am addressing the point of enjoying more than 3 minutes of the game. In my system, you got to enjoy 38 minutes instead of 3 minutes

I loved it when I was a kid. Liked it okay in my 20s. I outgrew it. It's boring and manila and uphauling and disgruntles me immensely.

HIC,

My ex hates baseball, even when our son played, the AllStar tournaments, etc. She said it is the most boring sport to watch. She wanted to make it entertaining by giving the batter his choice of running to first base or third base when he hits the ball. When a runner gets to second, he can continue on or turn and return to base from which he came.

Ex, hell, bring her to Tolbert's. I want to subscribe to her newsletter.

Beard should file a discrimination suit. He should also file for damages for the suffering UT caused on his fiancé, which is basically blaming her mental condition for Beard’s firing.

Apparently UT doesn’t support employees and their significant other who have mental illness.
For those who responded negatively to this, please note there is just as much evidence that the fiancé has serious mental issues as Beard didn’t act in self-defense. I am looking forward to the defense trial if there is one, as well as the lawsuit against UT (assuming the charges are dropped).

What if the felony charges are dropped? What if there is proof that the person instigated the arrest made a false accusation? I guess Beard sues his fiancé for loss of income?

I'd say yes PLUS wouldn't she be criminally liable for filing a false report?

Why would any coach sign a contract with UT if it is mostly used by the University to screw the coach with impunity due to the sovereign immunity clause? I would agree to a deal by handshake: you pay me x amount monthly or I walk.

mc,

I would add a clause that requires at least 12 months in escrow or an irrevocable letter of credit. The entire handling of this deal smacks of amateurism by educrats that have NEVER done a business deal.

Why after the Leach case does anyone agree to any job with any institution connected to the state government, now that it's been determined that their contracts can be violated or voided at any time and for any reason by the State? People want jobs.

Really less, because the final quarter would often turn into just an exercise in stalling - it would like playing football where you don't have make any particular yardage in any particular amount of downs, so if you're up 21-20 at the start of the 4th you just run up the middle 30 times in a row, keep both hands on the ball, and fall down the moment you have contact.

Yes, and all contract disputes decided by arbitration.
