Baylor v Oregon State

I'm still content that Baylor lost in front of a partisan Baylor crowd, and Mulkey's technical was basically the difference in final score. They got a great draw, got to play close to home, and the #2 seed in their region was an Oregon State team and coach with very limited NCAA tourney success and experience. But, I guess a few posters on here will continue to claim Mulkey walks on water . . .

not me - i am so happy they lost

The constant whining from her and her players after every foul that goes against them is annoying.
Coaches always think they get bad calls. Players always think they get a bad call. What astonishes me is when an obvious foul gets called, the Baylor team all react the same way. i.e. "What are you talking about?" to the refs. It's sad that it's been so ingrained in them that every foul call is "against" them and not because of sloppy play. I think that's a reflection of their coaches and the level of sportsmanship they teach there. To them, that's normal and the team spirit. To us, it's sometimes dirty play and bad losers.

No, she isn't "just like that with us". All you have to do is look at how she acted with Jeff Walz from Louisville and the arrogance she showed after that loss. I have met her on a few occasions and she was gracious and nice. Her classless behavior last year with Empress showed just how petty and simple she really is. A little school girl who cries and whines when she doesn't get her way 100% of the time.

I remember that presser very well, partly because I remember saying to myself "I wonder if I would react in that same way" and she was right to have a bone to pick. Everything she said was based in fact. I think some just took issue with her delivery.

While I agree with most of the Mulkey assessments on the board, I think we have to remember that being "simple & petty" is often synonymous with being great. So to single her out would be biased and unfair.

Jody's moments were well documented
Geno is more than known for being petty
Pat Summit had her moments ranging from not scheduling la tech & uconn to her pubilc "war of words" with Geno

Why do I find it not surprising at all that Mulkey usually gets her own segment in the annual video? Also, one of them said what I've always said about the AD, school & conference should be doing more to put a lid on her antics. Another felt it might help if she were T'd up more often during the season as this has become common for her in the postseason.

I'd rather talk about our team and players, but I sure don't think the hideousness that is coach Mulkey's behavior should be off limits. She's certainly a topic on a nationwide referee board apparently now & then as well.

You can't make me believe that her extremely unsportsmanlike conduct doesn't get in the heads of most officials and might -- no, PROBABLY -- influences calls at some point in that the refs subconscious says "I don't feel like hearing her mouth, so..."
It's not the questioning of calls that I personally take issue with. The vast majority of the officiating in WCBB is about as bad as it gets -- like, comparable to HS! However the extreme degree at which she conducts herself is absolutley unacceptable. Her behavior is not only unsportsmanlike but also HIGHLY unprofessional as well. It needs to be stopped!
