OUCHSome people have been talking about this coverup or 30+ years. It is why I have said hundreds of times that the rug Baylor BOR & administration keeps sweeping things under is approaching being the highest point in Texas.
In case anyone has for forgotten, I am a Baptist and attend weekly. I have talked to multiple BOR members, as well as prominent pastors, but the Baptist way remains, "Nothing is wrong, it just isn't as right as we'd like for it to be".
Baylor needs Daniel Vestal as Chancellor, Randall O'Brien as President, Joel Gregory as Provost. When that was a possibility, the BOR hired Robert Sloan as president; a man I trust less than Greg Fenves.
I have 3 (yes, three) siblings who went to that so-called institution, and two of them even married 2 other bears--one of them is even a minister. Yes, they ALL drink that Koolaid, think Briles firing is part of a conspiracy, nothing is wrong, happens at every school, etc...I, too, am a Baptist and am embarassed at what that place has become. We all thought the Dave Bliss fiasco was the worst, but wait...Some people have been talking about this coverup or 30+ years. Wow. That's kind of sad, really. I had a great uncle (with an ethical moral compass, I should add) that taught English there back in the day. It's definitely time to turn over the administration.the guidance counselor at my son's high school told the kids NOT to go to bailer!!
Wow ... wonder how many votes were needed ... were had ....
Well I presume the reasons were a bit different back then.
Why?
Because the current ongoing scandal wasn't happening in 2006.
Define "ongoing scandal". Were the players currently involved or accused in the media there 10-12 years ago? NO! Were similar activities being covered up back then? Oh, hell yes!
A school that covers up the "murder" of a football player by paying off the family, was not above covering up sexual assaults a decade ago, just like they covered up the steroid scandal and drug abuse.
Questions are:
Who definitely knew?
Who chose not to know?
Who buried their head in the sand?
Who participated in the cover up?
Why are so many of those people still affiliated and/or on Baylor's payroll.
I do find some irony in the fact that Baylor had a good man on their BOR when they hired his brother as controller. One had to resign because of a potential conflict of interest. This while all the other crap is going on.
Interesting question Joe Fan. My guess would be that Texas Tech might align with Baylor, maybe Iowa State.Who would oppose it? And why?
Replacement - UH?

"The lawsuit alleged that a former volleyball player was gang raped by four football players in 2012 after being drugged. Gang rape was allegedly so common on the football team that it was used as a bonding experience by players."
You are probably on to something BA. Baylor, Tech and IState are the 4 that would have the biggest issues finding a new home in another Power 5 conference.Interesting question Joe Fan. My guess would be that Texas Tech might align with Baylor, maybe Iowa State.
My reasoning would be that instability might threaten the survivablility of the conference as a whole. Change is an uncertainty that some may not like since they are making good money now.
But my reasoning is a SWAG
Speaking of sand saggy, they are finally getting a vet school. Are y'all underestimating the power of almost senator Craig James?
If he could help Tech out of this dilemma, he might finally have his first friend.

Good for them. I say it takes them less than a decade to overtake aggy as the preeminent vet school in Texas.Speaking of sand saggy, they are finally getting a vet school.
9 teams better than ten in this situation. Through them out.Who would oppose it? And why?
Replacement - UH?

Nice article in today's Star-Telegram that is a lengthy interview with Phil Bennett. While he goes all CYA for him, Briles, and the coaches, he throws the Baylor administration under the bus and destroys the law firm investigators.
I have never liked Phil Bennett, not at K-State nor Pitt nor A&M nor Baylor. This interview is all about "not me or my friends" and "**** on the hacks at Baylor & their BOR". Knowing some of the people involved, Bennett comes off almost believable about much of the stuff.
Sorry, I can't link it
Dare I say taint!?!Don't forget, in addition to KSU, SMU, Baylor and Pitt, he was on John Blake's staff at OU. That's a resume that doesn't wash off no matter how hard you scrub.
