One of the great disappointments of my life was going to The Fillmore for the first time. It was the "mother ship" for SFO music in the late 60s & 70s. Jefferson Airplane, Mamas & Papas. Cream, The Dead, all the way to Jerry LaCroix, and Jivin Gene Bourgois.

I expected the MSG of Rock. Place was second fl the Southwest corner of Fillmore and Geary on second floor above Rexall Drug store.
