Baker....another Heisman QB Mack didn't recruit??

yea, well neither did anyone else. He walked on to 2 different teams. There are pics of him in grade school wearing OU TShirts. He was 1) not recruited by any P5 schools and 2) was never coming here no matter what.

good grief there are plenty of things to blame Mack for, but this is not one of them.
 
Give me a break........Id take that douch; but only if he would take us to an undefeated season and a NC...then everybody would be going "hell yeah!!...what a great guy!!" Just like Johnny Football had he come here and won a NC.

I did not know anything about BAKER and his background and that is why I was asking the question.....used to keep on top of everything....last few years...not so much....
 
TEXnSEATTLE.....hes probably a lot like many DL. DB. RB.OL etc, except he had the camera on him and on center stage and chose to make a prick and butt out of himself.
 
He didn't recruit Manzere either, but it had absolutely nothing to do with his football skills. And he was right. No way I want either one of those douche's playing for my school. Like posted above, there are things to blame Mack for, but neither of these players is one of them.
 
The Snowflake looks better than he is due to the talent around him. I would be suprised if his NFL career is longer than Johnny’s. Stick him with shawn watson or our offensive line, we have the same record and no one thinks he is any good. The OU offensive line deserves the heisman this year.

His winning a heisman is yet another example of how the award has really gone downhill the past 30 years.

I will give Manziel that I think if you stuck Manziel on a Kansas team, he could still make things happen. If you stuck Snowflake Mayfield on a Kansas team, he would not make anything happen. Mayfield is a game manager, not a play maker. He also has to only be the 4th or 5th best OU QB in the Bob Stoops era.
 
I’d be more impressed if this post told Coach Herman who is going to win the Heisman in 4 years. #HindSight2020
 
I honestly wouldn't want him if he did the same stuff in a longhorns uniform.

And I'm a lot of fun watching a Cowboys game!

Not me. If the only way we can win another NC is with a disgusting human being like Mayfield, I can live without another. Fortunately, we will get there again, soon hopefully. And we will do it by taking the high road. That's why we're Texas, not Baylor, OU, FSU or any number of other schools about which we, at Texas, would not be proud.
 
Take this to the bank, I would forgo a N.C. if Baker was the QB and has acted as he is.
Same for football Johnny and crab legs,

I know some would and I get it, but I would not.

Sure, UT had its run of DUI and late night tokers , but I can’t name one Dbag.
OU has had several, A&M had one and so did FSU.
Baker is the king of the Dbag.
Wait for the idiot NFL GM who takes him to find out how great his- what the media calls “swagger” is.
 
Just to give you the usual OU (sucks) perspective, I have a long-time friend who is a great guy, big hunter, musician, good father etc. but is typical of the fan base. He is of course, quite proud of Baker and is also posting about OU going on to win their 8th title. The cheating that occurred doesn't mean a thing. They have seven titles. That's all that matters.

I think we did recruit Manziel. Muschamp wanted him as a db, not a QB.

Also, I think he attended one of our QB camps, along with David Ash and some others.
 
Mayfield is the only college player I've ever actively hoped would be taken out of a game on a cart. And I'm talking about every game he plays.
 
Mayfield is as special as Manziel was. Success in NFL? Probably not...but he's the straw that stirs the drink at OU. Not sure what Heisman means to anyone else on this board but if it's about talent and willing your team to victory, it's Mayfield hands down this year. If you want student-athlete choir boy then you need to seek out that Anson Mount Scholar Athlete title....or whatever it's called...

I have no idea. I wouldn't presume to invalidate someone's intent on the internet that I don't even know. I don't mind disagreeing with people, but calling people fake or disingenuous doesn't make sense on face value.

Do you know Mayfield personally or is your opinion based on his words and actions? Would you be as interested if he was the same guy with the same on field results if he played for Arizona State?
 
There is an element of "best fit". Vince fit Texas' system perfectly. So does Baker Mayfield at OU. It's hard to say you could plug anyone into anyone's offensive scheme and they'd be the same....so, it's the best player on one of the best teams.....
